ServiceNow IRM & SecOps Project Manager - Remote U.S.
Role Overview
Templar Shield is seeking an experienced and proactive Project Manager to lead the planning, delivery, and implementation of ServiceNow — focused on Integrated Risk Management (IRM) and Security Operations (SecOps). This is a remote-first role (U.S.-based), responsible for managing multiple workstreams across risk, compliance, security operations, and governance initiatives. You will liaise between business stakeholders, security/risk teams, technical implementers, and (where relevant) external vendors or consultants to deliver robust, scalable, and compliant ServiceNow solutions that strengthen our organization's security posture and risk governance.
About Templar Shield
Templar Shield is a boutique, high-performance consulting firm and ServiceNow Elite Partner. We specialize in Integrated Risk Management, Cybersecurity, Third-Party Risk, Operational Resilience, and AI Governance for highly regulated industries including critical infrastructure, financial services, healthcare, energy, and public sector.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead full lifecycle of ServiceNow IRM and SecOps projects — from requirements gathering and scoping through design, configuration, testing, deployment, and transition to operations.
- Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, resources, and success criteria; develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams (business risk/compliance, security operations, IT, DevOps/engineering, external vendors) to implement IRM and SecOps capabilities — including GRC workflows, risk assessments, vulnerability management, incident response automation, governance policies, compliance tracking, and reporting.
- Manage stakeholder engagement: interface with business leaders, security/risk executives, technical teams, and external partners; facilitate requirements gathering, maintain communications, and deliver regular status updates.
- Oversee change management: ensure that configuration changes, customizations, integrations, data migrations, and updates follow change-management processes, with appropriate documentation, version control, and testing (including User Acceptance Testing where applicable).
- Provide governance and quality assurance: validate deliverables (configurations, workflows, integration points), enforce compliance with regulatory frameworks or internal security standards (as applicable), and ensure best practices for IRM/SecOps are met.
- Coordinate training, documentation, and change-management activities for end users, administrators, and stakeholders; ensure smooth adoption of new processes and workflows.
- Identify, track, and mitigate project risks, dependencies, and blockers; escalate issues appropriately and ensure timely resolution to keep projects on track.
- Maintain and update project dashboards, status reports, and other project-management artifacts; document lessons learned and lead post-implementation reviews.
Requirements
Required Qualifications

- Demonstrated experience with ServiceNow — ideally involving IRM, GRC, SecOps, or related modules.

- Excellent project management skills: scope definition, resource planning, scheduling, budgeting, risk/issue management, stakeholder communications, change management.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills — ability to engage and influence across business, security, compliance, and technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a remote, dynamic environment, managing multiple concurrent workstreams and adapting to shifting priorities and timelines. Derived from remote-job examples.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow configuration/administration practices (roles, workflows, permissions, change-management, integrations) and, ideally, with IRM-related functions such as control and policy management, compliance automation, risk reporting.
- Willing to travel up to 50%
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- ServiceNow certifications such as Certified System Administrator (CSA) and Certified Implementation Specialist for Risk & Compliance (GRC/IRM), or SecOps.

- Previous experience leading multiple, concurrent ServiceNow deployments or large-scale programs in enterprise environments.
- Understanding of regulatory or compliance frameworks relevant to risk and security (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, internal audit frameworks, enterprise risk frameworks, etc.). Based on typical IRM/GRC job context.
- Familiarity with integrations between ServiceNow and third-party tools (e.g., vulnerability scanners, identity systems, security tools), data migration, scripting or automation workflows (e.g., REST APIs, Integration Hub), and general ITSM/SecOps best practices.
