The ServiceNow Developer will implement and configure ServiceNow, participate in the software development life cycle, document requirements, and collaborate with analysts and developers to ensure effective solutions.

ServiceNow Developer - REMOTE
BizFirst is assisting our client with recruiting a 100% Remote Full-time ServiceNow Developer position (W2, 1099). Our client is a boutique consulting firm that employs consultants with unique skill sets who have an expert understanding of complex federal financial requirements process, IT enabling systems, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
US Citizen; Must be Clearable; Secret clearance or higher preferred
Responsibilities:
- Perform configuration, integration, custom programming, and other hands-on technical activities concerning the implementation of ServiceNow
- Participate in the full software development life cycle: Analysis, Design, Coding, Testing, Training, and Operational support
- Assist in documenting requirements and aligning to existing ServiceNow capabilities
- Attend daily stand-ups and provides updates on previously planned work completion, as well as provides estimated times to completion for user stories/defects being worked
- Peer test other developers’ work
- Bring potential roadblocks to lead developer as soon as possible
- Communicate/work with business analysts on requirements that need elaboration
- Follow project’s guidance/best practices/expectations
Requirements:
- US Citizen; Clearable; Secret Clearance or Higher Preferred
- 5+ years’ experience in a Professional Services or software development environment
- ServiceNow Certified Appl Developer cert.
- At least 2 years of experience as a developer (not just system administrator) on the ServiceNow platform
- Service Portal development experience (building custom pages and widgets) is required
- Custom application development experience is preferred
- Experience performing configuration, integration, custom programming, and other hands-on technical activities in relation to the implementation of ServiceNow
- Experience eliciting requirements, and aligning to existing ServiceNow capabilities
- Familiarity with Agile software development discipline and environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging to varying stakeholder levels
- Proven experience in business analysis, requirements gathering, and designing and implementing solutions on the ServiceNow platform
- Experience with the ITSM processes or in the following functional areas: CSM, HR, SecOps, ITOM, ITBM
- Fundamental understanding of the key technologies relevant to the ServiceNow integration solutions including: SSO, SAML, SSL, Web Services, LDAP, JDBC, ODBC, REST, SCP, FTPS
- Experience with user interface (UI) technologies including: HTML, CSS, and Angular JS
- Experience with scripting in the ServiceNow platform using JavaScript: Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Actions, UI Pages, etc.
- Experience configuring web service system integrations preferred
- Is self-motivated / self-directed; capable of working a task to completion with minimal direction
