About the Role

We’re looking for a SEO Specialist to own and scale Archer Review’s organic search strategy. In this role, you’ll be responsible for increasing organic visibility, improving keyword rankings, and driving qualified traffic to our website and digital properties. Reporting to the Director of Growth Marketing, you will work cross-functionally with content, product, and development teams to ensure SEO best practices are implemented across all initiatives.

This role is ideal for someone who loves both the technical and creative sides of SEO—digging into data, conducting keyword research, optimizing site architecture, and collaborating on content strategies that resonate with our audience. We’re also looking for someone excited by possibilities and opportunities of AI search and has a keen interest in AEO/GEO. You’ll have a direct, measurable impact on how nursing and medical students discover Archer Review and the resources we provide.

Base Salary: $65,000 - $70,000

What you'll do

  • Keyword research & strategy: Conduct keyword research to identify new opportunities and inform content strategy across blog, product pages, and landing pages.
  • On-page optimization: Optimize site content, metadata, headings, and internal linking to maximize relevance and search visibility.
Technical SEO: Collaborate with developers to ensure proper site architecture, crawlability, indexing, page speed, and mobile performance.
  • Content collaboration: Partner with content and marketing teams to build SEO-informed editorial calendars and ensure published content aligns with target keywords and user intent.
  • Link-building & authority growth: Develop strategies to earn high-quality backlinks and strengthen domain authority.
  • Performance monitoring: Track and report on rankings, traffic, and conversions using tools like Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, or Ahrefs.
  • SEO audits: Regularly audit site performance, identifying issues and opportunities to improve organic visibility.
  • Industry trends: Stay up-to-date on algorithm changes, SEO best practices, and competitor strategies.

About you

  • 3-5 years of hands-on SEO experience, ideally in a B2C environment.
  • Proficiency with SEO tools (Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, Moz, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of on-page, off-page, and technical SEO fundamentals.
  • Experience collaborating with content teams to develop keyword-driven editorial strategies.
Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and basic technical troubleshooting.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Bonus Points

  • Experience in Ed-Tech or Healthcare industries

Our Benefits

  • Comprehensive medical, dental and vision insurance for employees and their families
  • Flexible & encouraged PTO
  • Company HSA contribution of $90/month for eligible plans
  • Company-paid life insurance and disability coverage
  • 401(k) with company match (100% match on first 3%, 50% match on the next 2%)

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
