The SEO Marketing Manager will develop and implement PERGOLUX's SEO and AEO strategies across multiple markets, optimizing both technical and content aspects and managing relationships with SEO partners.
The summary above was generated by AI

PERGOLUX is a rapidly growing e-commerce company specializing in Home & Garden. We design, manufacture, and sell pergolas — helping customers worldwide create their ideal outdoor living spaces. Founded in Norway, we're already making waves in 14+ countries across Europe, Australia, North America, and South America. Want to drive growth at the cutting edge of outdoor innovation? This is the place to be!

As our SEO Manager, you will own how PERGOLUX shows up in the new search landscape — across traditional Google rankings, AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and the AI assistants shaping the next decade of discovery. This is a dual-track role: you'll drive technical and content SEO across all 14 markets while building PERGOLUX's Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) capability from the ground up. Your mission is to make sure that when a customer asks an AI assistant about pergolas, outdoor living, or the questions that surround a high-consideration purchase, PERGOLUX is the answer — and to make sure we keep winning the traffic that still flows through Google.

Your Tasks

  • Build and execute the global SEO and AEO strategy across all 14 markets, balancing organic traffic, brand visibility, and citations in AI-generated responses

  • Own AEO end-to-end: develop frameworks for getting PERGOLUX cited by ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Gemini, and Claude across high-intent query clusters

  • Drive content strategy and production planning across markets, working with local Performance Marketing Managers and external partners to ship at volume without dropping quality

  • Lead technical SEO: site architecture, internal linking, schema markup (Product, FAQ, HowTo, LocalBusiness), Core Web Vitals, indexation, hreflang across 14 country sites, and JavaScript rendering

  • Build the measurement layer for AEO — share of voice in LLM responses, citation tracking, brand mention monitoring across AI surfaces

  • Audit and defend organic traffic in markets where AI Overviews are reshaping CTR; identify which clusters to protect and which to evolve toward AEO-first formats

  • Partner with the Content and Creative teams on E-E-A-T-aligned content production, ensuring author authority, original photography, and first-party data are core to every page

  • Identify and execute on programmatic SEO opportunities — location pages, comparison pages, configurator-driven pages — built to perform in both classic SERPs and AI summaries

  • Manage external SEO partners and the transition from agency-led to in-house execution

  • Stay ahead of every shift in the search landscape and translate it into a roadmap the business can act on

Your Profile

  • 4-6 years of SEO experience with at least 2 years in international or multi-market e-commerce

  • Demonstrable expertise in AEO/GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) — you've actively worked on getting brands cited in AI responses, not just read about it

  • Strong technical SEO foundation: hands-on with schema, log file analysis, crawl audits, Core Web Vitals, JavaScript SEO, and international SEO (hreflang at scale)

  • Content-led mindset — you understand that AEO rewards genuinely useful, authoritative content and you can brief, edit, and prioritize accordingly

  • Fluent with the modern SEO toolset: Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, GSC, Sitebulb, Sistrix; bonus for AEO-specific tools (Profound, Otterly, Peec AI, or in-house tracking setups)

  • Comfortable in Looker or similar BI tools to build your own dashboards rather than waiting for analytics support

  • E-commerce or high-AOV considered purchase experience strongly preferred

  • Native or near-native English; additional European languages (especially German) are a strong advantage given DACH is our largest market

  • Available to work from our Berlin office four days a week

What We Offer

  • Competitive Salary – Your contribution is rewarded with strong, market-aligned compensation

  • Company Pension Scheme – Benefit from a company-supported pension plan to help secure your long-term financial future

  • Real Ownership – Take meaningful responsibility in your role and directly influence key business outcomes

  • International Team – Collaborate with passionate colleagues across Europe, North America, Australia, and South America

  • Outdoor Lifestyle Discounts – Exclusive discounts on PERGOLUX products

  • Fast-Track Career Opportunities – As we scale quickly, you'll have significant opportunities to grow into senior leadership roles

  • Team Culture – Be part of regular team events, retreats, and a culture that celebrates wins — big and small

  • Bike Leasing Program – Sustainable and cost-effective bike leasing option to support an active lifestyle

We look forward to receiving your application and resume!

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
