Your RoleWe’re looking for a hands-on SEO Lead to build our SEO function from the ground up and make it a core engine of growth.
This is a founding leadership role: you’ll start hands-on across technical SEO, on-page, and off-page/authority, while working with agencies and creative partners. Over time, you’ll develop scalable frameworks, processes, and eventually a team to grow SEO into a key department.
The ideal candidate has operated in environments where SEO played a critical role in company growth. They are both strategic and operational: capable of executing directly, but also of setting long-term direction and scaling the function.
Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical SEOConduct technical audits and implement fixes across site architecture, crawlability, indexation, Core Web Vitals, and schema
Ensure SEO best practices are integrated into product and engineering workflows
Own on-page optimization: metadata, internal linking, and landing page improvements
Collaborate with content, product, and creative teams to ensure SEO intent is embedded into copy and UX
Audit backlink profiles and manage disavow processes
Build safe, sustainable authority strategies with diversified link acquisition
Monitor domain authority and link velocity to support long-term growth
Own reporting and diagnostics using different tools, like GA4, GSC, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, Moz, etc.
Track performance KPIs and provide insights that drive tactical and strategic decisions
Manage and brief agencies, freelancers, and creative partners to scale execution
Hold external partners accountable for measurable, sustainable outcomes
Design and own the SEO roadmap end-to-end
Establish scalable playbooks, systems, and processes
Recruit, coach, and lead a high-performing SEO team as the company grows
7–10+ years of hands-on SEO experience, ideally in companies where SEO was a core driver of growth
Proven success across the three pillars of SEO: technical, on-page, and off-page/authority
Proficiency in GA4, GSC, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, Moz, etc.
Experience with international SEO and algorithm update impacts
Ability to manage agencies/partners and align creative/copy execution with SEO
