  • Create and assign article outlines based on editorial and strategic direction provided by the CMM, providing feedback to writers on sentence structure, key points, and overall flow of articles.
  • Write new sections of content for existing articles or write brand new articles based on initiatives provided by the CMM.
  • Proofread and edit content for accuracy, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and overall quality.
  • Ensure that all content adheres to Paytronix's in-house style guide and brand voice across digital publishing platforms.
  • Review and revise content for readability, clarity, tone, and flow, ensuring the content is engaging and on-brand.
  • Conduct fact-checking and research to verify the accuracy of information included in written content.
  • Ensure all material within your area of involvement is optimized for SEO where relevant and formatted properly for HubSpot.
  • Manage multiple projects and prioritize deadlines to ensure content is delivered on time.
  • Stay current with content marketing best practices, SEO trends, and digital marketing strategies to ensure the continued relevance and effectiveness of SEO content and related website copy, like internal linking, SEO information gain, and content-related user experience.

What You Need to Be the Right Fit:

  • 2-3 years of SEO research, writing, and editorial experience for a digital publication or B2B company.
  • Exceptional grasp of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proficiency in applying popular style guidelines such as the Chicago Manual of Style or AP Stylebook, as well as internal style guidelines like our SEO Blog Content Style Guide and How to Write Substantive Content Confluence guide.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Experience collaborating with writers, designers, and marketing teams.
  • Familiarity with content management systems (CMSs) like HubSpot and Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience in the hospitality, tech, restaurant, or convenience store industries.
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices and experience optimizing copy for search engines.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
