There is never a dull moment on this strategic effort, a cornerstone for the nation's security. The Sentinel Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Program will completely replace the aging Minuteman III (MMIII) ICBM, an undertaking not performed in over 50 years. This program is considered a "mega-project" and one of the most complex in the history of the Department of Defense. The new ICBM weapon system acquisition effort brings with it the newest digital engineering tools and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices to meet existing warfighter requirements, while having the adaptability and flexibility to affordably address changing technology and threat environments through 2075. As part of the U.S. Air Force's Integration Support Contract (ISC), BAE Systems provides advisory and assistance services in the areas of engineering, logistics, management, scientific analysis, and other subject matter expertise to augment and optimize management of the Sentinel ICBM Prime Contractor.

The Role
BAE is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to support Sentinel's Guidance team within the Flight Systems Branch in developing the Sentinel guidance computer. This engineer will assist in acquiring, testing, and integrating guidance equipment for the Sentinel weapon system, collaborating with the government customer and Sentinel Prime Contractor to review and assess design, documentation, and architectures. You'll provide advice to Sentinel leaders throughout the acquisition cycle, utilizing MBSE best practices. Responsibilities include:
  • Demonstrate effective technical interaction between the Air Force customer, the Sentinel prime contractor, subcontractors, and other mission partners
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the prime contractor's Guidance Computer design and function
  • Participate in reviews of technical and programmatic briefings and reports
  • Support Integration and Test (I&T) activities

Who You Are

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • An accredited Bachelor or Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (preferred) or Aerospace, Mechanical, or Computer Science/Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related technical field.
  • 7 years (with BS) or 5 years (with MS) of directly related experience
  • Between 3 and 5 years of demonstrated experience in engineering or management support of defense systems, technology, or research and development activities (2+ years with master's degree or higher).
  • Ability to provide independent critical evaluation of design development and integration
  • Excellent cognitive, communication (both written and spoken), and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance and all necessary special program accesses (the criteria for obtaining and maintaining a security clearance is set by the US Government and you must be a US Citizen)

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • ICBM Weapon System and DoD Product Development Lifecycles
  • Systems Engineering functions, including requirements definition, management, and verification
  • Professional Engineering License
  • Systems Engineering experience and/or Certification
  • Engineering/Agile tools: Cameo, MATLAB, DOORS, JIRA, Confluence

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $118504 - $201457
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
