WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
The Senior Vice President (SVP), Management & Financial Lines serves as the second-in-command to the Practice Leader for supporting revenue growth, retention, placement excellence, and technical leadership across the Management & Financial Lines practice. The individual in this role leads complex client engagements, mentors producers and service teams, and strengthens key carrier and market relationships.
A GLIMPSE INTO YOUR DAY
- Partners with the Practice Leader to shape and execute enterprise growth, retention, and new‑business strategies, aligning practice objectives with broader firm priorities.
- Provides executive oversight of practice group operations and management including pipeline management, forecasting, and at‑risk account strategies, ensuring disciplined execution and sustainable revenue growth.
- Champions cross‑selling initiatives and enterprise collaboration, driving integrated solutions across practices and regions.
- Leads the placement of the firm’s most complex and high‑value client engagements, negotiating sophisticated coverage structures and terms with domestic and international carriers.
- Build panels and programs for the field to leverage the market relationships for best-in-class client results
- Serves as a trusted senior advisor to clients and internal stakeholders on program design, limits, retentions, alternative risk structures, and coverage enhancements.
- Oversees end‑to‑end placement execution, from strategic marketing through binding, policy review, and post‑bind stewardship, ensuring excellence in delivery.
- Develops industry leading process and technology capabilities to improve the client and field experience
- Monitors market dynamics, underwriting appetite, and emerging risks to proactively inform placement strategy and client guidance.
- Leads carrier stewardship efforts and manages escalations, resolving complex issues and strengthening long‑term carrier partnerships.
- Acts as a player‑coach, mentoring and developing producers, brokers, and account teams, elevating technical expertise, consultative skills, and leadership capability.
- Provides senior‑level technical oversight and quality control, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and best‑in‑class deliverables across the practice.
- Leads and participates in renewal cadence, pipeline reviews, and production meetings, driving accountability and execution against strategic goals.
- Ensures strong governance, documentation, and system utilization, reinforcing operational discipline, data integrity, and compliance.
- Performs other projects, duties, and tasks, as assigned.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE IN THIS ROLE
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Four-year degree in Business Administration, Finance, Risk Management, Economics or other related field preferred.
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in insurance brokerage, underwriting, or specialty risk advisory with financial lines focus.
- Property and Casualty License from state of domicile is required and must be maintained.
- Surplus Lines License strongly preferred.
- Professional designations such as CPCU, ARM, or CIC preferred.
- Demonstrated experience developing strategies and driving operational consistency.
- Strong relationships with carriers and market partners. Demonstrated skills in market negotiation and placement execution
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills are required to maintain effective relationships with clients, co-workers, carriers, vendors and others.
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office (primarily Excel and Word). Must be computer literate with the ability to learn new software applications.
- Strong ability to listen, discern, prioritize, and negotiate with clients and insurance carrier representatives based on a deep understanding of relevant issues.
- Ability to evaluate and make decisions, recognize potential conflicts and observe appropriate precautions.
- Ability to function effectively under tight time constraints, consistently meet strict deadlines, prioritize, and handle multiple tasks in a demanding work environment.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
