Responsibilities
As the Head of Data Management within Oaktree’s Information Solutions organization, you will lead the capabilities responsible for ensuring the integrity, governance, and operational oversight of the firm’s enterprise data assets. The mission of this role is to ensure the firm consistently delivers trusted, certified data to the business by establishing enterprise data standards, governance frameworks, and operational controls that govern how data is defined, mastered, monitored, and maintained across the firm’s data ecosystem.
This role serves as the operational control tower for enterprise data delivery, providing a single pane of visibility across the firm’s data environment including data quality monitoring, incident management, master and reference data lifecycle oversight, and stewardship of enterprise data domains. You will establish and lead a global data management organization responsible for enterprise data standards, master and reference data management, vendor and market data assimilation, and data operations, including leadership of a Hyderabad-based operations team responsible for day-to-day monitoring and support of the firm’s data platforms and data delivery processes.
Responsibilities include:
Enterprise Data Standards, Governance & Stewardship
- Own the enterprise data governance framework, including the standards, policies, and operating models that define how enterprise data is created, mastered, and consumed across the firm.
- Define enterprise standards for master and reference data domains, ensuring consistent definitions, governance processes, and lifecycle management across systems and platforms.
- Establish definitions of data ownership, stewardship responsibilities, and quality expectations for data assets.
- Oversee enterprise data stewardship models that ensure data assets are maintained in accordance with defined standards and governance frameworks.
- Drive cross-domain alignment of definitions, standards, and stewardship practices across systems and workflows.
- Partner with business, domain, and technology stakeholders to embed governance practices and ensure enterprise data assets are managed with appropriate oversight and lifecycle controls.
Data Operations, Quality & Incident Management
- Establish a centralized operational view across the firm’s data ecosystem, providing a single pane of visibility into data quality, operational health, and enterprise data delivery.
- Establish the operational frameworks and processes for enterprise data quality monitoring, incident management, issue triage, and remediation.
- Define operational controls and performance metrics to ensure reliable and timely delivery of certified enterprise data.
- Oversee enterprise data issue management, including escalation, root cause analysis, and remediation of data quality and operational incidents.
- Partner closely with Data Platform Engineering, Infrastructure, and Security teams to ensure operational alignment across the data ecosystem.
- Oversee the global data operations model, including leadership of the Hyderabad-based operations organization responsible for day-to-day monitoring and support.
Master & Reference Data Lifecycle Management
- Oversee the operational management of the firm’s master and reference data platforms and workflows. Experience with MDM tools and platforms such as Semarchy, Reltio, and bi-directional integration tools for MDM.
- Establish operating models for mastering and maintaining core data entities across systems and platforms.
- Ensure master data standards are embedded across engineering pipelines, integrations, and downstream platforms.
- Partner with domain experts and technology teams to modernize legacy data mastering processes and transition siloed data management practices toward enterprise models.
Vendor & Market Data Management
- Oversee the sourcing, onboarding, and lifecycle management of external market and vendor data used across the firm’s data ecosystem.
- Ensure vendor data is integrated and aligned with enterprise master and reference data standards and models.
- Establish processes for the assimilation, monitoring, and governance of third-party data feeds supporting investment and operational workflows.
- Partner with procurement, technology, and business stakeholders to ensure vendor data sources are managed efficiently and aligned with enterprise data standards.
Qualifications
- 10-15 years of experience in data management, data governance, data operations, or related disciplines within financial services or asset management.
- Proven leadership experience overseeing enterprise data management capabilities including data quality, governance, stewardship, and master data management.
- Strong operational mindset with demonstrated experience establishing operational processes, controls, and monitoring frameworks for enterprise data environments.
- Experience implementing enterprise data governance frameworks, data standards, and stewardship models.
- Strong understanding of enterprise data architectures, data pipelines, and modern data platform environments.
- Demonstrated ability to manage distributed teams and global delivery models.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives involving technology, operations, and business stakeholders.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive organizational alignment.
- Experience in asset management or financial services environments strongly preferred.

Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Finance, or a related discipline.
Base Salary Range
$225,000- $250,000
In addition to a competitive base salary, you will be eligible to receive discretionary bonus incentives, a comprehensive benefits package and a flexible work arrangement. The base salary offered will be commensurate with experience and/or qualifications, industry knowledge and expertise, as well as prior training and education.
