The Impact You Will Make 

The Senior Vice President, Finance (SVP) is a key executive leader responsible for enterprise financial strategy, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), and acquisition underwriting support. This role oversees the full financial lifecycle of Everstory’s assets- from acquisition and integration through operations, capital investment, and long-term performance optimization. Serving as a critical partner to the CFO, CIO, executive leadership team, and Board, the SVP, Finance leads the FP&A function, ensures disciplined capital allocation, strengthens institutional reporting, and provides forward-looking insights that drive value creation across the portfolio. The role operates at the intersection of operational finance, investment analytics, and strategic decision-making within a complex, multi-site operating environment. 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead enterprise-wide budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and long-range financial planning processes across operations, G&A, and field locations.
  • Own and maintain integrated financial models linking operating performance, capital expenditures, acquisitions, and liquidity planning.
  • Deliver executive level financial reporting, scenario analysis, and variance analysis to senior leadership and the Board.
  • Establish and manage KPI dashboards that measure operating performance, capital efficiency, and asset level returns.
  • Partner closely with field and operating leaders to align financial targets with execution across nearly 470 locations.
  • Build scalable FP&A processes, governance standards, and analytical diligence appropriate for a private equity–backed platform.
  • Partner with field leadership to analyze operational performance, inventory requirements, and location level business plans.
  • Develop asset grading and benchmarking frameworks to rank performance and prioritize improvement initiatives.
  • Lead financial evaluation of major capital expenditures, maintenance cycles, and renewal investments.
  • Monitor market dynamics impacting the death care industry, including demand trends, competitive conditions, and geographic considerations.
  • Lead financial underwriting and due diligence for acquisitions, dispositions, and strategic investments.
  • Build and review acquisition and transaction models assessing return profiles, capital structures, operational synergies, and integration risks.
  • Support investment committee materials, executive decision making, and Board presentations in partnership with the CIO.
  • Translate deal level underwriting assumptions into enterprise forecasts and post acquisition performance tracking.
  • Support post close performance measurement against underwriting and integration plans.
  • Partner with the CFO on capital structure strategy, liquidity management, and financing readiness.
  • Model the enterprise impact of acquisitions and capital investments on leverage, liquidity, and covenant metrics.
  • Support lender, bondholder, investor, and private equity reporting requirements.
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations for major strategic initiatives and operational investments.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor a high performing FP&A and asset management team.
  • Elevate analytical capabilities, business partnership effectiveness, and executive communication across the finance organization.
  • Build a scalable finance organization capable of supporting sustained acquisition, integration, and operational growth.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and collaborative partner to executive leaders and field operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; MBA or Master’s degree preferred. 
  • 7–12+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, asset management, investment banking, private equity, or asset intensive multi site operating platforms. 
  • Demonstrated experience in acquisition underwriting, transaction analysis, and capital allocation. 
  • Strong background in asset heavy or infrastructure oriented businesses and private equity portfolio environments. 
  • Proven ability to present to executive leadership, Boards, investment committees, lenders, and investors. 
  • Experience leading and developing teams with a track record of building scalable finance functions. 
  • Advanced financial modeling and analytical expertise spanning operations and transactions.
  • Strategic, enterprise level thinker with hands on execution capability. 
  • Exceptional financial analysis, modeling, and judgment. 
  • Investment fluency and strong commercial acumen. 
  • Executive presence with clear, concise communication skills. 
  • Collaborative leadership style with strong cross functional influence.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast paced, acquisitive, and evolving environment.
