Work Arrangement:
Hybrid: This full-time position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. However, this position requires an employee to be onsite at least three times per week (Tue., Wed., Thurs.) You will be based out of Milford Proving Grounds
The Role:
We are seeking a Senior Verification Engineer - Charging to join GM's Vehicle Mechatronic Embedded Controls Electrification Verification team. This role focuses on in-vehicle testing and software verification of electrification systems, ensuring robust performance and compliance with system requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute both planned and exploratory testing of electrification features and charging systems
  • Collaborate closely with calibration, algorithm/software, and controls engineering teams
  • Utilize serial data tools to monitor and analyze system behavior
  • Drive automation and continuous improvement in software quality and verification processes
  • Contribute to the development of test strategies, procedures, and documentation
  • Support issue identification, root cause analysis, and resolution across cross-functional teams

What You'll Do:
  • Execute Learning Analysis/Development/Validation (LADV) plans for EV and hybrid control systems.
  • Develop and validate new vehicle features/functions; translate requirements into test cases.
  • Evaluate engineering changes and their impact on verification testing.
  • Conduct peer reviews of test plans, considering hardware, software, and system architecture.
  • Execute manual and automated test scripts to verify EV charging features.
  • Publish engineering reports in Global Docs.
  • Identify and implement automation and virtualization opportunities.
  • Support development vehicle updates and troubleshooting.
  • Perform root cause analysis and document issues in the Problem Resolution Tracking System (PRTS).
  • Ensure electrification system integration meets customer expectations.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and prioritize safety in all work activities.
  • Document and characterize defects, including reproduction steps and test log collection.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related.
  • Minimum 7+ years of Automotive SW Test or Development, including experience with test automation and test or software architecture.
  • Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience with tools such as INCA, MDA, CANalyzer, and Vehicle Spy.
  • High-voltage or electrified vehicle safety training and hands-on experience.
  • Technical writing skills for engineering reports.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master of Science in Engineering.
  • 7+ years of experience in electrification, calibration, or controls.
  • 10 years of overall engineering experience.
  • Experience with software development, vehicle integration, and OBD compliance.
  • Familiarity with MATLAB and test automation.
  • Strong project leadership and complex problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of vehicle development and engineering test procedures.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass MPG advanced driver training.
