Job Title: Senior Shopify UX Strategist

Location: Remote within US

Job Type: Full-time

About Us:  Acadaca is a leading e-commerce agency specializing in custom Shopify experiences for a diverse and growing client base. We pride ourselves on crafting elegant, high-converting digital storefronts that are intuitive, accessible, and aligned with our clients’ goals.

Position Overview:  We’re looking for a Senior Shopify UX Strategist to take on a team lead role within our UX team. In addition to producing best-in-class UX deliverables, you will act as the team’s strategic lead—guiding project direction, managing team hours and priorities, representing UX in cross-functional meetings, and leading client-facing presentations and workshops. This role requires both strong design thinking and a confident, collaborative communication style.

You’ll partner closely with designers, developers, and account leads to create thoughtful, user-centered Shopify experiences. At the same time, you’ll be the primary voice of UX in client engagements, ensuring that design decisions align with both user needs and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead UX strategy and execution across multiple Shopify projects from discovery through delivery.
  • Manage and prioritize UX team resources and hours in collaboration with project managers.
  • Facilitate and lead client meetings, workshops, and presentations—clearly communicating UX rationale and advocating for best practices.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for UX on cross-functional teams, translating business needs into actionable UX plans.
  • Create wireframes, user flows, and prototypes to articulate solutions.
  • Conduct UX audits and present findings and strategic recommendations to clients.
  • Conduct and synthesize user research and usability testing to validate design decisions.
  • Maintain UX documentation, style guides, and design systems.
  • Stay on top of industry trends and continuously improve team processes and deliverables.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of UX design experience with a focus on e-commerce and/or Shopify.
  • Deep knowledge of the Shopify ecosystem, including themes, apps, and storefront structure.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Can proactively identifying workflow bottlenecks.
  • Exceptional client communication skills—confident in leading discussions, responding to feedback, and translating client goals into UX strategies.
  • Expertise in Figma and common UX tools.
  • Working knowledge of HTML/CSS/JS is a plus.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating UX leadership, strategy, and design execution.
  • Detail-oriented with a passion for great user experiences.

How to Apply: Interested candidates are invited to submit their resume, portfolio, and a brief intro letter outlining their relevant experience and why they are a good fit for this position.

  • Flexible and remote work environment.
  • Exposure to a wide range of e-commerce projects and clients.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
