Overview

We’re seeking an experienced Senior UX Designer to join our cross-functional team supporting digital products for Veterans and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). You’ll work alongside engineers, designers, researchers, and product managers to ensure product decisions are grounded in user needs and informed by data. This role requires hands-on research expertise, strong collaboration skills, and experience in government contracting.

What you’ll do:
  • Deliver wireframes, prototypes, and polished UI designs across product lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with researchers to integrate user insights into design decisions.
  • Contribute to and extend design systems and component libraries.
  • Ensure compliance with accessibility standards and technical feasibility.
  • Document design decisions and maintain clear design artifacts.
  • Mentor peers and lead design critiques.
What you’ll bring:
  • 5+ years of UX/product design experience with a strong portfolio.
  • Strong understanding of mobile-first design principles.
  • Experience with design systems and reusable component libraries.
  • Proficient with tools such as Figma and Mural for collaboration and design.
  • Comfortable navigating GitHub for collaborating with engineering teams.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.
  • Deep familiarity with accessibility standards, including Section 508 and WCAG (a11y) compliance.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to distill complex findings into clear insights for diverse audiences.
