Join our award-winning game development team and help create our next AAA title.

We're looking for a Senior UX Designer to shape the player experience of our upcoming game. In this role, you'll drive the design of intuitive, engaging systems that support gameplay clarity and usability, from HUD to menus to in-game navigation.

You'll work cross-functionally to prototype, test, and implement UX that feels responsive, intentional, and scalable, all within the context of a fast-paced game.

Responsibilities
  • Design and prototyping: Develop wireframes, user flows, and interactive prototypes that align with game mechanics and player needs
  • Collaboration: Work closely with game designers, engineers, UI artists, and producers to integrate UX into features and systems

  • Accessibility and inclusivity: Ensure designs are usable by a wide range of players, accounting for diverse needs and preferences
  • User Research & Competitive Analysis: Conduct user testing sessions, gather player feedback, and iterate to optimize player engagement and satisfaction. Perform competitive analysis to identify best practices and opportunities
  • Design system & Documentation: Contribute to creating a scalable design system for UX/UI and maintain clear documentation to support team-wide consistency
  • Visual Integration: Partner with UI artists to build a cohesive, functional, and visually clear interface design language
  • Production Awareness: Break down experiences thoughtfully to help teams ship value incrementally, making smart trade-offs between fidelity and functionality
  • Team & Culture: Champion UX thinking throughout the studio and help mentor junior UX designers as needed. Playtest with both the studio and design team to review and iterate on UX in-game
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in UX Design for AAA games, ideally including shooter or RPG titles
  • Strong grasp of PC and console interface design, with deep understanding of interaction across controller, mouse, and keyboard
  • Demonstrated Unreal Engine 5 and UMG experience in a professional production environment
  • Expert-level proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar prototyping tools
  • A portfolio showcasing high-quality UX solutions for complex systems, including HUDs, menus, and in-game flows
  • Deep understanding of gameplay systems and how UX influences comprehension, engagement, and accessibility
  • Comfortable scoping and estimating UX effort for features or systems
  • Experience designing interfaces on PC, and Console, with strong understanding of interaction modalities across controller, keyboard, mouse, and touch
  • Ability to interpret player feedback, usability data and iterate effectively
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills across disciplines in a fast paced, iterative environment
  • Passionate about games, with a sharp awareness of current emerging UX trends

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
