About the role

At Private ID, our Senior Test Automation Engineer plays a key role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of our privacy-first identity verification solutions. You will be embedded in a cross-functional product squad, collaborating closely with developers and DevOps engineers to design, implement, and maintain robust automated test frameworks.


Your day-to-day will include

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining automated tests across APIs, web, and mobile platforms.
  • Collaborating with engineering teams to define testing strategies and integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Conducting code reviews, test result analysis, and continuous improvements to test coverage and reliability.
  • Maintaining test environments and ensuring that automation scripts are optimized for scalability and performance.
  • Participating in release planning, sprint ceremonies, and quality gates to guarantee the stability of every deployment.
  • Championing best practices in automation, code quality, and security testing, aligning with Private ID’s commitment to user data protection and compliance.

You’ll work with cutting-edge tools and technologies while contributing to the evolution of a world-class test automation culture that supports Private ID’s mission to build privacy-preserving identity systems.

 

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in software testing, with a strong focus on test automation frameworks.
  • Proficiency in automation scripting languages: JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
  • Hands-on experience with one of these automation tools: Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or Appium.
  • Experience in API testing using frameworks like Postman, RestAssured, or Karate.
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and integration of automated testing into build and deployment workflows (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
  • Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerized testing using Docker or Kubernetes.
  • Experience with performance and security testing tools is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset, attention to detail, and commitment to delivering high-quality, secure software.
