Role & Mission

As a Senior Technical Writer at Apollo, you will own the creation, optimization, and maintenance of both internal and external knowledge base content. You’ll partner with Product Managers, Engineers, Customer Support, Rev Ops and Customer Success to ensure our knowledge ecosystem empowers customers to self-serve, while also enabling internal teams to move faster with confidence.

This role is evolving: you won’t just write and edit, you’ll also integrate AI-driven tools to accelerate content creation, identify weak spots in documentation, and scale our Knowledge Base without creating extra workload. Ideal candidates are endlessly curious, customer obsessed, and comfortable straddling the worlds of technical detail and clear, simple explanation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research, write, and develop new and updated knowledge base articles, FAQs, troubleshooting guides, snippets, and internal enablement docs.

 • Partner closely with Product Managers and Engineers to deeply understand new features and translate technical detail into clear, customer-ready content.

 • Collaborate with Support, Customer Success, and Enablement teams to capture recurring issues, identify knowledge gaps, and improve internal workflows.

 • Use AI-assisted tools to accelerate drafting, auditing, and surfacing weak or duplicate content.

 • Conduct recurring content audits to ensure KB remains accurate, current, and discoverable.

 • Mentor junior writers, sharing best practices for technical writing, SEO, and AI adoption.

 • Drive the creation and execution of release notes and documentation plans tied to product launches.

 • Provide training/reference content to accelerate onboarding and upskilling of internal employees.

Competences

• Customer Obsession: Writes with empathy, prioritizing clarity and usability for customers and internal teams.

• Problem-Solving: Proactively identifies knowledge gaps and proposes scalable solutions.

• AI Fluency: Skilled at integrating AI tools for writing, summarization, insights, and content maintenance.

• Technical Acumen: Proficient in CMS platforms, analytics dashboards, and structured authoring systems.

• Communication: Strong written and verbal skills to engage with SMEs and explain technical concepts.

• Analytical Thinking: Uses data, feedback, and AI-driven insights to audit, improve, and optimize content.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
