We’re looking for a Senior Technical UI Designer to join our team and help us craft the future of online multiplayer gaming. As a Tech UI Designer, you’ll set the standard for building the fundamental UI systems that will take us into that future. You’ll own and drive the implementation of key UI features, working closely with designers, artists, producers, engineers and more. Responsibilities:

  • Champion the development, iteration, and maintenance of various UI features and building-blocks ranging from sophisticated, reusable widgets and menus to dynamic animations.
  • Effortlessly and iteratively bring to life our team’s approved UX wireframes in-engine through visual scripting (Blueprints).
  • Create in-engine UI Materials for widgets.
  • Collaborate deeply with other teams! This role will be the nexus between UX Designers, UI Engineers, UI Artists, and Systems Designers, and will collaborate with many other departments across the game from Audio to backend Engineering as needed.
  • Constantly monitor and improve UI implementation to ensure a world class user experience at scale.
  • Routinely identify, implement, document, and advocate UI Blueprint architecture best practices and workflows to improve team effectiveness.
  • Proactively learn and research new tools to elevate the quality of UI deliverables and improve workflow within the UI team.
  • Constantly seek to grow self, and open to growing and mentoring others.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong proficiency with Unreal Engine and Blueprint scripting is required.
  • Proven ability to analyze and solve complex technical and design challenges.
  • Experience building complex real-time user interfaces.
  • Solid understanding of data flows and organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new tools and processes, while effectively iterating and collaborating under deadlines and production constraints.

Relevant Experience:

  • AAA Game experience, preferably in UI, is a plus.
  • Programming experience (C++, C#, etc.) is a plus.

The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between $100,200.00 - $148,320.00 per year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards and eligibility to participate in our 401(K) plan and Employee Stock Purchase Program.

Regular, full-time employees are also eligible for a range of benefits at the Company, including: medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance coverage; 14 paid holidays per calendar year; paid vacation time per calendar year (ranging from 15 to 25 days) or eligibility to participate in the Company’s discretionary time off program; up to 10 paid sick days per calendar year; paid parental and compassionate leave; wellbeing programs for mental health and other wellness support; family planning support through Maven; commuter benefits; and reimbursements for fitness-related expenses.
