Who we are

Samsara (NYSE: IOT) is the pioneer of the Connected Operations™ Cloud, which is a platform that enables organizations that depend on physical operations to harness Internet of Things (IoT) data to develop actionable insights and improve their operations. At Samsara, we are helping improve the safety, efficiency and sustainability of the physical operations that power our global economy. Representing more than 40% of global GDP, these industries are the infrastructure of our planet, including agriculture, construction, field services, transportation, and manufacturing — and we are excited to help digitally transform their operations at scale.

Working at Samsara means you’ll help define the future of physical operations and be on a team that’s shaping an exciting array of product solutions, including Video-Based Safety, Vehicle Telematics, Apps and Driver Workflows, and Equipment Monitoring. As part of a recently public company, you’ll have the autonomy and support to make an impact as we build for the long term.

About the role:

At Samsara, we hire people who are passionate about building for the long term—and we’re looking for a Senior Recruiter to do just that across key specialized roles for Samsara’s R&D teams with a distinct focus on Product Design. Design at Samsara doesn’t live in the abstract - it directly shapes how people work, drive, and stay safe every day. Your mission will be to keep an exceptionally high bar in identifying, engaging, and nurturing exceptional designers who will bring simplicity and clarity to incredibly complex user experiences. You’ll work full lifecycle and work backwards from what exceptional looks like, craft search strategies that balance speed with depth, and operate as a trusted partner to senior leaders. You’ll also build for the long term, thinking about how to continuously improve our design brand, interview processes, and candidate experience. If you're energized by solving hard problems, thrive in a culture of honest feedback, and want your work to shape Samsara’s next chapter, we’d love to connect.

This role is open to candidates residing in the US except the San Francisco Bay Metro Area, the NYC Metro Area, and the Washington, D.C. Metro Area.

You should apply if:

  • You want to impact the industries that run our world: Your efforts will result in real-world impact—helping to keep the lights on, get food into grocery stores, reduce emissions, and most importantly, ensure workers return home safely.
  • You are the architect of your own career: If you put in the work, this role won’t be your last at Samsara. We set up our employees for success and have built a culture that encourages rapid career development, countless opportunities to experiment and master your craft in a hyper-growth environment.
  • You’re energized by our opportunity: The vision we have to digitize large sectors of the global economy requires your full focus and best efforts to bring forth creative, ambitious ideas for our customers.
  • You want to be with the best: At Samsara, we win together, celebrate together, and support each other. You will be surrounded by a high-calibre team that will encourage you to do your best.

In this role, you will:

  • Own full-cycle recruiting for Samsara’s R&D teams - predominantly product design - delivering outstanding execution across IC and leadership-level searches
  • Work end-to-end as a strategic recruiter, including extensive research and market mapping to identify the best talent and programmatic engagement (tracking outreach, A/B testing, ongoing campaigns, out-of-the-box methods for reaching talent)
  • Act as a strategic partner to senior stakeholders, gaining deep context on their goals and influencing outcomes through insight, calibration, and high-integrity decision-making
  • Drive long-range talent strategy—including outbound programs, market mapping, and engagement—even when no active roles are open
  • Proactively identify and resolve friction points in hiring processes; bring clarity to ambiguity and unlock forward progress
Elevate the candidate experience by setting a high-touch, personalized standard throughout every stage of the funnel

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • 8+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, including ownership of high-bar roles in the product design space (UX, Research)
  • Demonstrated success running searches for senior stakeholders (Director level and above), with an emphasis on trust, rigor, and influence
  • A “Talent Partner” mindset—you contribute insights, talent data, and structure that raise the bar beyond filling roles
  • Proven ability to build effective outbound and passive talent strategies in constrained markets - especially where the "easy path" doesn’t work
  • Strong track record of navigating complex hiring scenarios, including pushback, ambiguity, and process risk, while keeping a long-term focus on hiring quality
  • Excellent communicator who aligns stakeholders, mitigates surprises, and delivers crisp execution
  • Experience leveraging AI tools thoughtfully and intentionally to drive more thorough, effective, and efficient recruiting - without compromising candidate quality or experience

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
