Role Overview

Alteryx is seeking a versatile Senior Technical Project Manager & Product Owner to bridge the gap between marketing strategy and technical execution. In this hybrid role, you will partner directly with Marketing and Marketing Operations leaders to prioritize initiatives across our Marketing SaaS ecosystem and Salesforce (SFDC) customizations.

You will help translate marketing goals into a prioritized SaaS product roadmap and partner with the delivery team – including developers, technical leads, solutions architects, and business systems analysts – to deliver scalable, high-impact marketing tech solutions on time.

Key Responsibilities

Product Ownership & Roadmap

Collaborate with Marketing Operations and leadership to translate marketing strategies into a prioritized product roadmap, balancing business requirements, technical debt, and system stability.

Own refinement and sequencing of the systems backlog within priorities, funding, and outcomes agreed by Marketing and IT stakeholders, balancing technical debt, and system stability.

Partner with Marketing stakeholders and BSAs to document business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria; coordinate with architects and developers on technical specifications.

Project Management & Delivery

Develop delivery plans and coordinate resource needs and capacity commitments with functional managers to drive end-to-end delivery of marketing technology projects.

Facilitate project meetings, sprint planning, demos, and support BSAs and business users in testing and coordinate UAT/deployment-readiness reviews.

Identify cross-system dependencies, mitigate technical risks, and resolve delivery bottlenecks across teams.

Provide clear, tailored status updates on projects, roadmap progress, and technical tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders and leadership.

Technical Strategy & Collaboration

Work alongside system architects and developers to ensure platform feasibility, third-party SaaS integration functionality, new system proof-of concept initiatives, and architectural decisions.

Work with subject matter experts to ensure data hygiene, security compliance, and seamless end-to-end data flows between top-of-funnel marketing tools, lead routing systems, and Salesforce.

Required Qualifications

Experience: 5+ years in a PM or hybrid Technical PM/PO role managing software or business systems projects in an Agile environment.

Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of core marketing processes, campaign operations, lead management, and top-of-funnel sales dynamics.

System Expertise: Proven experience with Salesforce (SFDC) customizations and integrations within a modern Marketing Tech stack (e.g., Marketo, HubSpot, Pardot, or similar SaaS tools).

Technical Acumen: Ability to discuss API capabilities, interpret system architecture diagrams, and navigate database structures.

Tooling & Process: Hands-on expertise running Scrum or Kanban frameworks utilizing Jira and Confluence.

Communication: Exceptional ability to bridge technical and business domains, translating complex architecture into business outcomes and vice versa.

Preferred Qualifications

Certifications: Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or PMP.

Familiarity with Salesforce and the end-to-end lead-to-opportunity process.

Technical Background: Prior experience as a SaaS developer, technical analyst, or systems administrator, prior to transitioning into product or project management.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
