Job Summary:

Seeking a Technical Product Manager (TPM) with expertise in developing customer lifecycle management systems to take ownership of core lifecycle management solutions within Vertex’s product ecosystem. Customer lifecycle management is not just a feature; it is foundational to the platform. This role will focus on executing the development of our customer lifecycle management solution, collaborating with other teams to ensure adoption of the new system, leading the migration of customers and products to the new system, and deprecating the legacy system. The TPM will collaborate with other product managers and cross-functional teams to deliver robust, scalable lifecycle management solutions, while also preparing to expand responsibilities into additional technical domains as the company’s platform evolves. Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of the development and execution of core customer lifecycle management solutions within the Vertex product ecosystem.

  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (e.g. Software Architecture, Engineering, and UX) and other product managers to ensure successful adoption of new lifecycle management systems.

  • Lead the migration process for customers and product teams from legacy systems to new lifecycle management platforms.

  • Guide the deprecation and retirement of outdated or legacy customer lifecycle management systems.

  • Drive innovation by identifying and implementing scalable, robust solutions that serve as foundational platform capabilities.

  • Work closely with stakeholders to capture requirements, prioritize initiatives, and align product development with company strategies.

  • Prepare to expand into other technical domains as the company’s platform evolves, supporting continued professional growth.

  • Foster collaboration and continuous improvement within and across teams, promoting best practices in technical product management.

  • Lead or participate in other activities, agile ceremonies or duties as assigned. Other functions may be assigned, and management retains the right to add or change the duties at any time

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong expertise in customer lifecycle management, with proven ability to design, execute, and optimize lifecycle management solutions within a complex product ecosystem.

  • Demonstrated leadership in migrating customers and products from legacy systems to new platforms, including successful adoption and deprecation strategies.

  • Experience collaborating across cross-functional and multidisciplinary teams, partnering with other product managers, developers, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, robust solutions.

  • Ability to drive innovation, identifying opportunities for foundational platform capabilities and implementing improvements that enhance product performance and customer experience.

  • Skilled in capturing requirements, prioritizing initiatives, and aligning product development with organizational strategy.

  • Proficient in agile methodologies, leading or actively participating in agile ceremonies and adapting to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication skills, able to distill technical concepts for diverse audiences and foster collaboration within and across teams.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to evaluating solutions and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Flexible and growth-oriented, eager to expand into additional technical domains as the platform evolves and business needs change.

Educational Qualifications and Work Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related discipline or equivalent work experience

  • Five plus years of technical product management experience

Pay Transparency Statement:

US Base Salary Range: $114,500.00 - $148,800.00

Base pay offered to new hires may vary based upon factors including relevant industry and job-related skills and experience, geographic location, and business needs.* The range displayed does not encompass the full potential of the role, which allows for further growth and career progression.

In addition, as a part of our total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Vertex Bonus Plan (VOB), a role-specific sales commission/bonus, and/or equity grants.
