Own a product area from customer discovery through roadmap, delivery, launch, and iteration. Translate lender and operations-team needs into product specifications, architecture decisions, and measurable outcomes. Collaborate with engineering, design, Sales, and Customer Success; prototype ideas using AI coding tools; and support positioning and deal cycles. The role requires technical fluency, zero-to-one product ownership, B2B SaaS experience, third-party integration experience, and familiarity with AI-powered features.

About the Company

Our client is an AI-native B2B fintech company modernizing the mortgage loan process. Its platform uses intelligent document management, workflow automation and configurable business rules to help lenders operate more efficiently. Founded in 2020, the company has roughly 80 employees, has raised $44M and powers more than $85 billion in home loans. The team is remote-first across the United States and is more than doubling its engineering organization this year.

About the Role

Own a product area end to end, embedded with a strong engineering team and in constant contact with customers. This is a hands-on individual contributor role with real decision rights, not a backlog management job, in a market worth roughly $2 trillion.

What You Will Do

Own a product pod from customer discovery with lenders and operations teams through roadmap, delivery and post-launch iteration.

Bridge engineering, design and the business, turning customer needs into clear specs and architecture decisions.

Prototype and validate ideas with AI coding tools so engineers get concrete starting points.

Define success metrics for every initiative and keep iterating until outcomes are achieved.

Partner with Sales and Customer Success on positioning and deal cycles for your product area.

Requirements

What We Are Looking For

Five to ten years of product management or closely related experience, such as forward-deployed engineering, as an individual contributor.

B2B SaaS experience at a startup or growth-stage company, shipping in fast-moving, resource-constrained environments.

Demonstrated zero-to-one ownership. Ex-founders are strongly preferred.

Technical fluency to prototype with AI coding tools, read a codebase and contribute to architecture discussions.

Experience working with and building third-party integrations.

Specs and async documents that engineers actually read.

Bonus Points

Experience in a regulated industry such as mortgage, lending, insurtech or healthcare.

A software engineering or forward-deployed engineering background.

Working knowledge of LLM concepts and experience shipping AI-powered features.

Benefits

Compensation and Benefits

$170,000-$250,000 base salary plus competitive equity, higher for exceptional candidates.

Location and Work Model

Remote within the United States. You must be US-based and authorized to work without visa sponsorship. Expect roughly one domestic trip a month to customer sites.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
