Technical Product Managers combine deep technical knowledge and experience with product leadership capabilities which are needed to enable Riot Games to deliver key products and experiences to make it better to be a player. You will develop and execute strategies on Riot's products and technologies while leading diverse teams to deliver creative solutions to our most difficult technical and experiential challenges.

As a Senior Technical Product Manager in Publishing Platform’s Social Initiative, you will be responsible for understanding our game team’s and Riot Player’s needs for high quality social experiences. You will collaborate closely with our studios, designers, platform SDK and back end service teams to translate “make it better to be a player” aspirations into actual product requirements as well as prioritize and map out the roadmap for our team. You will be responsible for supporting and enhancing our Conduct Reinforcement Pipeline which builds the trust of our players by managing reports, penalty determinations, and restrictions, while also emphasizing positive behaviors realized through reputation and other mechanisms.  

Responsibilities:
  • Develop understanding of Riot’s Publishing Platform technologies including ability to define requirements and effectively communicate in written and verbal forms across engineering, design, and product management.
  • Specifically drive product requirements, priorities, and roadmap for our Publishing Platform’s SHIELD team consisting of highly scalable distributed services managing millions of players simultaneously
  • Develop the technical product vision and direction for key components of Riot’s player conduct reinforcement infrastructure
  • Manage all essential customer and partner relationships including game teams and other internal Riot teams developing vertically integrated customer-facing capabilities (Riot Client/Mobile, Publishing, Riot Player Support, etc.) 
  • Develop and present executive level goals and plans with ability to incorporate feedback and adjust as needed.
  • Develop a deep understanding of our Riot player’s needs and motivations and be able to understand specific target segments and how to deeply resonate with them.
  • Negotiate with vendors and product / engineering from contracted software integrations in order to drive Riot’s outcomes on their roadmaps.
Required Qualifications:
  • Technical bachelor’s or master’s degree (or equivalent experience).
  • 6+ years of relevant product experience.
  • Product visioning and development done against laddered objectives and key indicators to drive real product impact.
  • Understanding of player/customer needs within complex audience segments and the ability to discern needs from wants.
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex topics to audiences with little-to-no context, conveying nuances effectively to lead multiple software development teams at a visioning and development level.
  • Experience creating and improving complex systems with attention to player impact and internal customer needs.
  • Proven ability to think about and deliver solutions for abstract, big-picture problems and strategy.
  • Able to effectively influence positive player outcomes by leveraging insights, strategy, and storytelling to get complex work accomplished across a diverse set of partners.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience collaborating with game, platform, infrastructure, publishing, and ops teams.
  • A history of partnering with creative stakeholders and technical teams in gaming, media, or similar fields.
  • Experience with Riot’s out of game experience as well as core game publishing.
  • Experience in social dynamics - specifically player dynamics systems which can understand and influence social player behaviors.
  • Experience working with large-scale back-end services or platforms and the collaboration / orchestration that comes with delivering them with impact.
