About the role

Help build and execute the operational technology that powers Syllo’s rapid growth.

In this role, you’ll drive engineering execution inside Company Operations, connecting business needs with technical delivery. You will partner with business leads and our Business Systems and Automation Manager to evaluate complex operational challenges, translate validated needs into clear engineering specs, and deploy operational engineering capacity where it yields the highest leverage.

You will also work closely with our Senior Data Engineer to ensure our data warehouse schema and downstream financial/GTM reporting systems receive clean, accurate, and structured inputs. When custom software builds are required, you own the sprint prioritization, capacity allocation, and quality checks.

We are looking for a product manager who brings strong technical acumen, clear prioritization skills, and a flexible, hands-on mindset. As our team expands, this role offers space to grow and evolve into broader leadership opportunities.

What you will do
  • Execute the technical roadmap: Define, sequence, and manage the engineering build queue for Company Operations, aligning priorities and project milestones across teams.
  • Lead intake and specifications: Convert cross-functional operational requirements into clear, intuitive specifications that engineers can execute on cleanly.
  • Guide engineering capacity: Allocate engineering capacity across Internal Tools and Business Systems projects each cycle, balancing speed, maintainability, and organizational impact.
  • Support data warehouse evolution: Partner closely with our Senior Data Engineer—who designs and builds the schema—by gathering requirements, establishing business logic standards, and ensuring data structures cleanly support downstream GTM and financial systems.
  • Flex across hands-on technical work: Roll up your sleeves to keep projects moving smoothly, stepping into versatile hands-on tasks ranging from user acceptance QA and data validation to light prototyping with AI coding tools.
  • Partner on build versus buy execution: Work with the Business Systems and Automation Manager to provide accurate engineering estimates and capacity analysis when evaluating custom builds versus vendor solutions.
What you bring
  • Technical product judgment: Comfortable evaluating schemas, sizing work, and assessing engineering trade-offs in direct partnership with developers.
  • Thoughtful prioritization: Skilled at managing competing internal requests, bringing clarity, logic, and empathy to trade-off decisions.
  • Clear specification writing: Ability to translate complex team workflows into intuitive, engineer-friendly specifications.
  • Cross-functional partnership: A collaborative approach to working with Finance, Revenue Operations, and Customer Success, using data and clear rationale to build consensus.
  • Adaptable mindset: Excitement for dynamic, fast-growing environments where roadmaps naturally evolve as business needs shift.
Experience and qualifications
  • 5+ years in technical product management, data product management, or analytics engineering within a fast-scaling B2B SaaS company, enterprise software organization, or comparable environment.
  • Experience collaborating with Data Engineering teams on warehouse structures (BigQuery, Snowflake, etc.), with practical SQL comfort for data validation and QA.
  • Experience balancing competing team demands against engineering capacity, with a track record of transparent prioritization.
  • Familiarity with go-to-market or financial system integrations (e.g., CRM, billing platforms, ERPs) is a strong plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
Total rewards and benefits

At Syllo, we believe in taking care of our team so they can focus on building the future of legal tech.

  • Compensation: Competitive base salary + equity options. Range: $160k to $200k
  • Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, and voluntary insurance options. Vacation, sick leave, and paid holidays. Access to benefit counselors and fitness class reimbursements.
  • Growth: Annual learning and development budget and real career growth in a fast-scaling organization.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
