Backed by one of the leading private equity firms, KKR, and led by a forward-thinking management team, ISC is combining the worlds of insurance and technology to create an Insurtech powerhouse. As a leading online distributor of insurance products for a range of industries and “Main Street USA”, we are looking for the right people to help us in our mission of achieving exponential growth. We strive to be the number one place to go for brokers and agents to source insurance. To accomplish this, we’re building a digitally focused team that deeply understands the intersection between user experience, data, and AI/ML to optimize the way we engage with our customers and partners.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Product Manager to join our team at Integrated Specialty Coverages (ISC). Reporting directly to the VP of Product, this senior-level role will be responsible for defining and driving the vision, strategy, and roadmap for major product areas, with a focus on delivering value to our customers and achieving business outcomes. The ideal candidate will thrive in an environment where product teams are empowered to solve customer problems, prioritize outcomes over outputs, and continuously discover and deliver impactful solutions. This role requires a strong technical background, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to influence the broader product direction in a fast-paced Insurtech environment.

  • Drive Customer-Centric Discovery: Conduct customer research, analyze data, and use insights to inform product decisions, ensuring solutions address real user needs and deliver measurable value.
  • Focus on Outcomes Over Outputs: Prioritize and deliver impactful business outcomes, such as increased broker engagement or operational efficiency, rather than just feature delivery.
  • Collaborate with Technical Teams: Work closely with engineering and design to ensure technical feasibility, scalability, and an exceptional user experience, bridging the gap between technical and business priorities.
  • Mentor Junior Talent: Guide and mentor junior product managers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, experimentation, and improvement within the product team.
  • Influence Broader Product Direction: Act as an internal thought leader, identifying opportunities for innovation and growth in the Insurtech space and shaping ISC’s long-term product roadmap.
  • Build Stakeholder Relationships: Engage with executives, customers, and partners to align product initiatives with company goals and represent ISC in industry discussions.
  • Stay Ahead of Trends: Keep abreast of emerging technologies (e.g., AI/ML, data architectures) and Insurtech trends, integrating relevant advancements into the product strategy.
  • Drive Process Innovation: Champion continuous improvement in product development processes, encouraging experimentation and iterative development in line with agile principles.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience: 7+ years of product management experience, with a focus on technical products in a technology-driven environment. Experience in insurance or Insurtech is a plus.
  • Technical Background: Deep understanding of software development, data architectures, and emerging technologies such as AI/ML. Familiarity with data technologies (e.g., Snowflake, vector databases) is a plus.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, influence without authority, and drive complex initiatives to successful outcomes.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.
  • Agile Expertise: Extensive experience with agile methodologies and product development frameworks.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
