Sr. Business Development Manager, Creator Partnerships

Please note: We are only considering candidates who currently reside in the Greater Seattle area, New York City, or Los Angeles, CA.

Are you an innovative business leader passionate about shaping the future of content and influencer partnerships? Join us as a Sr. Business Development Manager, Creator Partnerships on our dynamic Creator team! In this impactful, full-time, permanent, and onsite role, you’ll take complete ownership of launching and scaling complex new business initiatives. You’ll analyze markets, build commercial strategies, forge high-value partnerships with creators, and drive our expansion into fresh content types, markets, and demographics.

You’ll thrive in an environment that rewards builders, those who excel amid ambiguity, set bold strategies where none currently exist, and deliver industry-leading results, even with limited guidance. Every day brings new opportunities, from analyzing industry trends and collaborating with Product and Finance on strategy, to pitching to senior leadership and implementing game-changing go-to-market initiatives alongside talented business development and marketing colleagues.

As a solo-owner and cross-functional leader, you’ll identify new opportunities, make strategic tradeoffs, and navigate resources in a fast-evolving landscape. You’ll collaborate closely with Product and Engineering to shape and deliver pioneering creator offerings, building truly unique partnerships and commercial models from the ground up.

Essential Functions
  • Build net-new strategic business frameworks from zero to scale: define market thesis, partnership structures, and operating mechanisms for initiatives not yet in existence

  • Analyze market trends and competitor positions to pinpoint white-space opportunities, converting insights into prioritized, actionable business strategies

  • Build and steward key creator relationships, structuring and negotiating deals, payments, and financial models to unlock new content, engagement, and revenue streams within established legal frameworks

  • Partner closely with Product and Engineering to ensure new creator initiatives align with platform needs and roadmaps

  • Collaborate with Business Development and Marketing on go-to-market strategies, ensuring commercial strategy delivers tangible adoption and revenue results

  • Prioritize workloads across your initiative portfolio, focusing resources on the most impactful opportunities

  • Establish workflows and SLAs, identify risks and opportunities, and deliver customer-value-driven solutions

  • Present business cases and strategic decisions to senior leadership, including leaders up to three levels above your own

  • Influence partner roadmaps and investment strategies cross-functionally, without direct authority, to align stakeholders and drive shared success

Please note: This job description does not list every duty or responsibility assigned to this role; new activities may be assigned at any time.

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • This is a sole-contributor role. There are no direct reports.

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of professional, non-internship experience in business development, corporate development, or strategy

  • Proven ownership of the entire lifecycle for complex business development programs: strategic definition, deal structuring and negotiation, commercial and financial terms (with legal handled by internal teams), and ongoing measurement

  • Demonstrated success in building new business lines, partnerships, or strategic frameworks from concept to execution and scale

  • Experience partnering or managing relationships with Product and/or Engineering teams

  • Strong business acumen: capable of creating basic financial projections and explaining ROI of new creator business models

  • Expert in using data and metrics to drive improvements, measure effectiveness, and determine impact on customer experience and business results

  • Advanced experience in Excel or Tableau (including data manipulation, macros, charts, and pivot tables)

  • Background developing go-to-market strategies—targeting, positioning, and launch plans—in partnership with Business Development and Marketing teams

  • Skilled communicator, able to present strategies and results to VP-level leadership

  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity, balancing short- and long-term priorities, and delivering outcomes autonomously (critical for this sole-contributor, playbook-free role)

Preferred Qualifications
  • General understanding of the influencer/content marketing ecosystem from a marketing or business perspective

  • Direct experience negotiating creator or influencer partnerships

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
