The Vendor Performance Management Lead serves as the vendor-aligned, centralized point of contact responsible for driving performance outcomes across assigned technology labor vendors. This role is critical to executing the Vendor Performance Management Framework, ensuring vendors adhere to operational expectations, meet performance targets, and support strategic workforce needs across Optum Technology.
You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

- Own vendor performance management for assigned IT labor / system integrator vendors
- Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor performance discussions with both vendor leadership and internal Optum stakeholders
- Track, analyze, and interpret quantitative and qualitative performance metrics against defined targets
- Prepare and present executive-ready ready dashboards, reports, and visualizations to internal leadership and vendors
- Lead performance reviews and corrective action discussions, including delivering constructive feedback and enforcing standards
- Support the launch and ongoing maturation of a vendor performance framework, including driving adoption and compliance
- Partner with cross-functional functional teams in a matrixed environment to resolve vendor issues and escalations
- Apply project management skills to keep initiatives, reporting cadences, and framework rollouts on track

Required Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of experience in vendor management or vendor operations, specifically within technology labor, system integrators, or workforce vendors
- Experience managing vendors in a large-scale enterprise environment (multiple vendors and stakeholders)
- Experience creating, managing, and presenting dashboards, scorecards, or performance reports to senior leadership
- Experience managing projects or programs end-to-end, including defining scope, tracking progress, managing dependencies, and driving execution in a complex, matrixed organization
- Solid understanding of technology labor models, staffing lifecycle, and performance metrics
- Demonstrated ability to interpret quantitative and qualitative performance data and translate insights into action
- Proven ability to influence without authority and operate effectively in a complex, matrixed organization
- Proven solid communication skills with the ability to manage cross-functional relationships
- Proven ability to deliver corrective feedback, manage escalations, and hold external partners accountable to performance standards
- Demonstrated ability to use AI-enabled tools to enhance efficiency and output, including lightweight automation or agent-based solutions
Preferred Qualifications:
- Analytical or operational excellence certifications (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma)
- 5+ years of experience in workforce strategy, technology operations, procurement, or delivery leadership
- Experience working within large-scale vendor ecosystems, particularly technology consulting, system integrators, or contingent labor
- Experience with vendor performance-governance frameworks, including QBR/EBR cycles or structured vendor review processes
- Experience supporting or driving organizational change management initiatives
- Working knowledge of technology vendor contracts, commercial models, and negotiation considerations
- Familiarity with vendor management tools such as Fieldglass or similar platforms
