Lead a team of vehicle operators in L3 test operations, ensuring safety, communication, and alignment with Zoox's goals while motivating staff and conducting performance reviews.
Zoox has embarked on a highly ambitious journey to develop an autonomous mobility solution built from the ground up. As our Vehicle Operations team develops and scales, so does the challenge to understand operations data, ensure effective communication between development and operations, and inform key decisions to scale the organization successfully.
In this role, you will lead the team of Zoox Vehicle Operators who operate our L3 test vehicles. As a Team Lead, you will lead a team of vehicle operators to ensure they understand and execute short-term and long-term targets. You will lead a team of field experts for tools, features, and functions related to Vehicle Operator workflows, coordinating and streamlining processes supporting Vehicle Operations at Zoox. Leaders at Zoox are hands-on with their team, working with & alongside them daily, leading by example to ensure all software and hardware tests are executed to Zoox’s high standards. You will also work closely with other leaders within the Vehicle Operations organization, assisting and interacting with multiple teams across the company, including Program management, strategy, vehicle engineering, and go-to-market teams. Our managers are disciplined team players who believe in doing everything it takes to accomplish the mission safely.

Monday - Friday, 7am -4pm
In this role, you will:
- Support vehicle operators in day-to-day operations, upholding a safety-centric, inclusive, and open communication culture.
- Complete all administrative tasks concerning team management, including, but not limited to, timesheet approval & schedule validation, and conduct written and oral performance feedback with direct reports at regular intervals.
- Work closely with other Team Leads and Program/Project Managers within Vehicle Operators to ensure their team stays aligned with Zoox’s overall goals.
- Become a knowledge expert on Zoox’s proprietary software related to Vehicle Operations and motivate and mentor direct reports to execute and deliver to Zoox’s high standards.
- Interact with contractors assigned to Zoox to answer questions, provide information, and ensure they understand and execute their job assignments.
- Conduct testing every week with a priority on safety to ensure you stay up-to-date with the current state of Vehicle Operations.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of professional work experience in a cross-functional operations and product-based environment
- 2+ years of people leadership experience
- Experience working in a high-level collaborative environment and promoting a teamwork mentality
- Proven ability to problem solve and improve operational efficiency with a proactive mindset and resourcefulness
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to coordinate with team members and management and explain technical issues
- Excellent driving history

Bonus Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business management or related field
- 3+ years of experience in the autonomous vehicle industry
- Working with cross-functional teams on go-to-market initiatives
There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $100,000 to $146,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling and positioning within a level are determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting represents the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
