The Gogo Senior Systems Engineer-Satcom & Aviation will be responsible for developing the system architecture, design, and specifying system and subsystem requirements for aviation telecommunications equipment.
This is an extremely exciting time at Gogo, where our newest products are enabling us to provide real-time world class support and customization unlike anything else in business aviation. This role is an integral part of taking our foundational work to the next level and using our data-rich ground systems to continually push the limits of what is possible in aviation – both on the ground and in the air.

How will you make a difference?

  • Work with a cross functional teams to define new product features, including capture, analysis, articulation and execution of requirements from Product Management, Manufacturing, and Customer Support teams
  • Effectively communicate design guidance, architecture, and requirements to Hardware and Software engineering teams to implement
  • Work with the Product Management team and ensure that the goal of each feature is communicated at all levels during implementation to help drive focused decision making and design
  • Resolve conflicts and guide teams toward the right technical solution
  • Contribute to the specification and design of subsystems and equipment covering avionics and telecommunication systems. This will include the integration of subsystems into various avionics systems and platforms
  • Provide system, software, and hardware requirements development, and system design and detailed design for new products
  • Assist with generating systems level architecture and guidance for design engineers

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent work experience
  • 7-12 years’ systems engineering experience
  • 4-7 years’ experience with avionics, avionics integration, or other similar aerospace applications
  • 2-4 years’ experience in the satellite communications environment

Required Skills, Talents & Experience

  • Experience as a System Engineer, Software Development Engineer, RF Engineer, or Aircraft Engineer
  • Skilled in conducting requirements analysis and decomposing product requirements into system, software, and hardware requirements
  • Has worked with LEO, GEO, or MEO satellite technologies
  • Understanding of antenna design including phased array antenna technology
  • Working experience with FAA (DO-160, DO-178, and DO-254) objectives
  • Can work in a configuration-controlled environment

Preferred Skills, Talents & Experience

  • Knowledge of avionics systems and their interrelation and interconnection
  • Familiarity with business processes in a product delivery organization
  • Expertise with ARINC 429 data communication
  • Exposure with LTE, CMDA, and wireless/RF systems
  • Has worked with integrating, verifying, and/or validating complex systems comprised of multiple sub-systems
  • Practical experience with test phases covering the entire product life cycle, including proof of concept, lab, field (drive/flight testing), and production testing

Equal Pay Disclosure(s)

Base Pay:

126,000.00 - 157,500.00 USD Annual

Target Annual Short-Term Incentive:

Bonus Plan at 15% (% of Annualized Base Pay)
