Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Systems Administrator to manage and optimize our hybrid IT environment, including Citrix infrastructure, on-premise systems, cloud services (AWS and Azure), and internal user support. This role requires a hands-on technical expert with knowledge in Citrix XenApp, Windows Server administration, virtualization technologies, and automation scripting. The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership, tier III support, and contribute to a high-performing IT infrastructure that enables business operations across a global workforce.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical subject matter expert for Citrix environments (XenApp, XenDesktop, Metaframe, EdgeSight, StoreFront, Web Interface, Receiver/Client Plugins), managing operations, troubleshooting, and performance optimization across enterprise deployments.

  • Manage Citrix policies, SSL VPN configurations, and multi-factor authentication (2FA) solutions.

  • Monitor and resolve complex issues in the Citrix environment and related application infrastructure; serve as the escalation point for troubleshooting across various IT components.

  • Administer core Microsoft infrastructure services (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, File/Print) and Windows Server platforms (2012 through 2022).

  • Deploy, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers in VMware vSphere environments, including high availability, disaster recovery, and storage management (SAN, vSAN, Nimble).

  • Support cloud infrastructure initiatives in AWS and Azure, including deployment, monitoring, and optimization of application stacks, networking, and storage.

  • Automate system administration and operational tasks using PowerShell and Python, including integration with REST APIs.

  • Provide Tier III technical support for end-user issues and mentor Tier I/II support staff; participate in an on-call rotation for critical incident response.

  • Ensure IT operations run smoothly across local and global teams, supporting workstations, conference rooms, and IT assets in collaboration with Workplace Services.

  • Manage IT ticket queues and document incident resolutions, standard operating procedures, and system configurations.

  • Support IT onboarding by provisioning user accounts, assigning permissions, and setting up new hardware/software for incoming employees.

  • Lead or consult on IT projects involving upgrades, new technology rollouts, and business system enhancements.

  • Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, and continuous infrastructure optimization.

  • Maintain compliance with software patching schedules, backup policies, and security standards.

  • Coordinate with external vendors and service providers to support infrastructure and resolve issues.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in system administration.

  • Advanced knowledge of Citrix technologies, Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and GPO management.

  • Strong experience in VMware vSphere/ESXi environments and enterprise storage systems.

  • Proficiency in PowerShell and Python for automation; experience integrating with REST APIs.

  • Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS and Azure), virtualization, and networking fundamentals.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and optimize complex IT environments, both on-premise and cloud-based.

  • Experience in mentoring IT support teams and managing escalated tickets.

  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset to support cross-functional initiatives.

  • Proven ability to document procedures, configurations, and workflows clearly.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Citrix Certified Associate/Professional, Microsoft, VMware, AWS/Azure) are a plus.
