This is a hybrid role Our team collaborates in-person out of our incredible office in New York City or San Francisco Tuesday through Thursday. We encourage our employees to work from our office on additional days if they desire to do so.
About the Team
Uber for Business brings the power of Uber to organizations, their employees and customers. While we already serve 170k global organizations, including ~70% of the Fortune 500, we are continuing to invest to win the business segment, with ambitious plans to grow our Gross Bookings.
Our core offerings include rides, meals and delivery solutions. Whether we're feeding employees working in a hybrid office environment or facilitating ground transportation when employees travel for business, there are numerous opportunities to help our clients support their employees, customers and overall business objectives with Uber for Business.

Expense partnerships are one of the most important growth channels in that plan. Uber is the single most expensed item in corporate travel and entertainment, and we integrate directly into the platforms where that spend is managed - SAP Concur, Navan, Ramp, Brex, Expensify, Coupa and a fast-growing roster of new, global partners. These integrations automate receipts, sync employee rosters, and make Uber the frictionless default for business travelers. It is one of the fastest-growing parts of Uber for Business, and we are investing to scale it globally.
About the Role
We're looking for a Sr. Strategic Operations Associate to own the Expense Partnerships vertical for Uber for Business - one of the most exciting and fastest growing business units at Uber.

This is an end-to-end ownership role. You will run a portfolio of live expense platform partnerships, drive the growth initiatives that scale them after launch, help bring new partners live from term sheet through certification and GTM, and act as the internal center of gravity for everything expense - strategy, analytics, product requirements, sales enablement and partner strategy.

You'll work with a dedicated cross-functional pod spanning Product, Partner Engineering, Commercial/BD, Sales Ops, Legal, Marketing, Sales Enablement and Community Operations, and you'll be the person leadership turns to for the state of Expenses.

What You'll Do
Own the partner portfolio
  • Own performance for a portfolio of live expense partnerships end to end: set the growth plan, run the operating cadence, and be accountable for bookings, organization acquisition, and adoption targets.
  • Run recurring internal and external business reviews with partners - build the scorecards, bring the insights, and drive the follow-through.
  • Build deep expertise on each partner's platform, customer base and commercial model, and become the internal subject matter expert other teams rely on.
Launch new partnerships
  • Partner with Commercial Leads on commercial negotiations, and deal strategy - sizing the opportunity, pressure-testing the terms of the deal, and validating that the operational pull-through will happen for these partners.
  • Drive new integrations from contract to live: scope the build with Partner Engineering and Marketing, hold a high UX bar, and land a coordinated GTM launch.
  • Ensure contractual obligations are met post-launch and that every partnership is set up to grow, not just to ship.
Analytics and performance management
  • Maintain the reporting that tracks the vertical: bookings by partner, organization acquisition, employee link rates, share of wallet on partner platforms, integration churn and support volume.

  • Use SQL and our data platform to uncover actionable insights - where the funnel leaks, which partners are under-indexed, which cohorts convert - and turn them into the go-forward strategy.

  • Communicate the state of the business to leadership and cross-functional teams in forums like Monthly Business Reviews.

Product strategy and launch
  • Translate partner and customer needs into product requirements: author BRDs, size the opportunity, and partner with Product to get them on the roadmap.
  • Champion the end-to-end expense experience, from organization onboarding through receipt delivery, and drive the fixes that remove friction for admins and employees.
Go-to-market strategy and enablement

  • Design and execute joint GTM motions with partners: co-branded webinars, in-product activation, CRM campaigns, seller enablement, incentives and lead sharing.

  • Equip our sales teams to win with expense - playbooks, training, competitive positioning and proof points.

  • Support high-impact client engagements, joining calls and helping craft proposals and incentive plans for large-scale deals.

International expansion

  • Help extend the model into new regions by identifying, prioritizing and launching in-region expense partners, and adapting our playbook to local market requirements.

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in strategy, operations, strategic partnerships, business development, or project/program management

  • Experienced SQL user or similar query language

  • Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience owning or managing technology partnerships, particularly platform or API integrations, including post-launch growth and joint go-to-market execution
  • Familiarity with the expense management, corporate card, fintech, or business travel ecosystem

  • Track record of working against revenue goals, with clear ownership of the outcome

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with experience managing meetings and presentations with senior leaders

  • Analytical thinker, with experience using data to drive business decisions

  • Strong business acumen, with experience evaluating a line of business and understanding how to drive growth

  • Strong organization and project management skills, including ability to prioritize and lead multiple projects and processes simultaneously

  • Skilled in synthesizing information quickly to distill key takeaways, and to weave insights into a compelling story that clarifies and inspires

  • Experience building deep relationships with cross-functional stakeholders - and with external partners - anticipating their concerns and successfully advocating for your priorities

  • Comfort addressing ambiguity, for example, shifting priorities or unfamiliar problems

  • An ability to identify new sales use cases, playbook findings, and share out with regional teams to gain adoption and accelerate growth

  • Experience supporting commercial negotiations, contract renewals, or deal structuring

  • B2B Experience is an asset, but not required

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
