About This Job

Dutchie is looking for a Senior Strategic Finance Analyst who thrives in the "gray space." This is a high-impact, hands-on role for someone who wants to help define the financial future of a category leader. You’ll serve as a strategic partner across the company, using data-backed insights to pressure-test initiatives and drive our most critical growth levers. If you are an expert at navigating ambiguity, leveraging AI-driven analytics, and turning complex problems into actionable execution, you belong here

What You’ll Do

Strategic Analysis & Financial Architecture

  • Roadmap Ownership: Support the annual budgeting and multi-year planning by prioritizing investments that directly support our most aggressive strategic bets.
  • Pressure-Test the Business: Conduct high-stakes, data-driven analyses. We don’t just want variance reports; we want insights that dictate how we pivot or double down.
  • Build for the Future: Build detailed financial models to evaluate new products, markets, M&A targets, and complex partnerships.
  • Narrative & Synthesis: Bridge the gap between data and the Board. You’ll translate complex financial models and data into clear, concise narratives for our executive team and investors.

Operational Execution & Collaboration

  • Cross-Functional Connective Tissue: Partner with leaders across the org to untangle data roadblocks and ensure our financial reporting drives better decision-making.
  • Close the Loop: Collaborate with the Accounting team to ensure the accuracy of the month-end close and its direct alignment with strategic Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

What You’ll Bring

  • High-Growth Pedigree: 3-5 years of experience in high-impact analytical roles (FP&A, Private Equity, or IB). If you're coming from Banking, we need to see at least a year of "in the trenches" industry experience.
  • The "Builder" Toolkit: Expert-level modeling and scenario planning are non-negotiable, but we’re specifically looking for the ability to navigate the "gray space" of a scaling startup.
  • AI-First Mindset: You aren't just using ChatGPT for emails. You’re automating complex workflows and experimenting with agentic methodologies to move faster than a traditional team.
  • Effective Communication: Transforming complex, large-scale data into clear, actionable recommendations suitable for a Senior Leadership Team (SLT) audience.
  • Location: Boston, MA preferred.

You’ll Get…

We are targeting a starting salary of $124,000 - $166,000 based on the intended level for this role. There may be flexibility on individual compensation packages based candidate skill set, experience, qualifications and other position-related factors.

In addition to cash compensation, our total rewards package includes:

  • Full medical benefits including dental and vision plans to ensure you always have the best care.
  • Equity packages in the form of stock options to all employees.
  • Technology (hardware, software, reading materials, etc..) allowance
  • Flexible vacation and sick days

At Dutchie, we’re committed to providing an environment of mutual respect where equal employment opportunities are available to all applicants and teammates without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, pregnancy, age, national origin, disability status, genetic information, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. Dutchie believes that diversity and inclusion among our teammates is critical to our success, and we seek to recruit, develop and retain the most talented people from a diverse candidate pool.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
