What are we looking for?
We're seeking an exceptionally talented and influential Senior Staff Product Designer to join our team. In this pivotal individual contributor role, you'll significantly impact our product strategy by driving product UX strategy and shaping the future of user experience across our platform. You're an expert at solving complex design and user problems, thriving even in highly ambiguous situations, and consistently delivering innovative solutions that align user needs with strategic business goals. Your work will directly contribute to increasing business and organizational value through outstanding product design and a deep understanding of our users and the cybersecurity landscape. You're ready to make a significant strategic impact, lead design thinking, and mentor others while operating at the forefront of product innovation.
What will you do?
- Drive Product UX Strategy: Define and lead the overarching UX strategy for key product areas, influencing multiple teams and product roadmaps.
- Solve Complex Problems: Tackle ambiguous and challenging design and user problems, transforming them into intuitive and impactful solutions that enhance business value.
- Innovate & Elevate: Innovate novel design patterns and concepts to solve specific user problems, continuously raising the bar for design excellence and innovation across the organization.
- Lead with Expertise: Leverage expert knowledge in UX principles, user-centered methodologies, and design thinking to guide design and delivery from concept to implementation.
- Advocate for Users: Utilize your deep understanding of SentinelOne's platform, business, and cybersecurity user behaviors to advocate for and demonstrate design work that solves holistic problems.
- Collaborate & Influence: Partner closely with cross-functional teams (Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, Sales) to define project roadmaps, ensuring they are user-centered, data-informed, and consider the entire product ecosystem.
- Lead Decision-Making: Drive critical design decisions for business-critical or interdependent platform projects.
- Mentor & Develop: Lead feedback efforts, mentor individual contributors, and host workshops to foster a culture of design excellence, transparency, and storytelling within the organization.
- Drive Strategic Initiatives: Identify, define, and spearhead strategic user-centered design opportunities and initiatives across the organization, ensuring alignment with company goals.
- Evangelize Design: Establish and evangelize principles and standards for design innovation and excellence, assisting others in scaling their design solutions and systems.
What skills and knowledge should you bring?
- 10+ years of experience in Product Design, UX Design, or a related field, with a significant track record of strategic impact as a distinguished individual contributor.
- Expert knowledge of UX principles and user-centered design methodologies.
- Mastery in design systems, with a proven ability to lead their evolution and application.
- Expert proficiency in Figma and experience leading its adoption and effective use for design processes within an organization.
- Specialized expertise in data visualization design and dashboard UX, with a proven ability to create clear, actionable, and visually compelling data experiences for complex information.
- Deep understanding of product design and delivery in complex enterprise software, preferably within cybersecurity or a related technical domain.
- Exceptional problem-solving and design thinking skills.
- Proven ability to navigate and mitigate conflict effectively.
- Expertise in time management and self-direction in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong orientation towards goals and strategic alignment with organizational and company objectives.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills, with the ability to tailor complex information to various audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and foster growth in other designers and cross-functional partners.
- Considered a leader in at least one of the following: business, brand, marketing, or product strategy.
