We are seeking a Senior Staff Brand Copywriter to join our talented and ambitious in-house creative team. Candidates will be strategic thinkers and masterful writers who can shape brand narratives, lead high-impact campaigns, and elevate how we speak to the world. This role is for someone who thrives on solving complex storytelling challenges, inspires with craft, and knows that the best ideas often come from collaboration.

In this role, you will be pivotal in bringing Grammarly’s brand voice to life across all permutations and channels. You will craft and refine compelling copy that ensures all marketing content communicates a unified message that punches through the noise and champions what makes our brand unique. 

You'll lead the way in storytelling by expertly collaborating with designers, brand strategists, marketers, and product content designers. This role is for a passionate professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and gets just as excited about bold headlines on billboards as they do about unpacking complex technical concepts into clear, engaging video scripts.

This role reports to the VP Executive Creative Director and is critical to the Grammarly brand present and future. This hire must be based in the SF Bay Area. 

  • Lead the development of breakthrough messaging across brand, product, and marketing touchpoints: from high-concept brand campaigns to making technical content accessible to our end users
  • Serve as a thought partner to cross-functional leaders in brand, product marketing, comms, and growth, translating business strategy into resonant, on-brand storytelling.
  • Push creative boundaries while maintaining clarity, cohesion, and consistency across everything we write
  • Mentor and guide other writers and collaborators across the org, helping to uplevel the quality of writing and strategic thinking
  • Act as a steward of the brand voice, ensuring it adapts appropriately across audiences, platforms, and formats
  • Tackle projects ranging from naming and product launches to major brand moments and video scripts
Qualifications
  • 12+ years of experience as a hands-on copywriter working in the marketing and/or advertising space
  • An exceptionally strong portfolio that spans brand campaigns, digital, and product marketing, ideally within the tech or SaaS space
  • A combination of strong craft foundations with laser-sharp strategic thinking underpinning all your work 
  • A deep understanding of storytelling, tone, and the customer journey, and how to tailor language for impact and resonance at every stage
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
  • A humble, team-first attitude and the confidence to advocate for bold ideas when it matters

Compensation and Benefits

Grammarly takes a market-based approach to compensation, which means base pay may vary depending on your location. Our US locations are categorized into two compensation zones based on proximity to our hub locations.

Base pay may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The expected salary ranges for this position are outlined below by compensation zone and may be modified in the future.

United States:

Zone 1: $271,000 - $330,000
