Senior Specialist, Workforce Development

100% Remote within California, Must reside in California 

We are seeking a Senior Specialist to join FoundationCCC in its mission of benefiting, supporting, and enhancing the California Community Colleges—the largest and most diverse system of higher education in the nation. What You’ll Do 

The Foundation for California Community Colleges (FoundationCCC) Workforce Development Department (WDD) aims to ensure that all learners in California obtain the knowledge, skills, experiences, and networks needed to connect with meaningful work, expand career options, and increase economic and social mobility. WDD works in four primary areas (1) building capacity within K-12, college, apprenticeship, and workforce development systems to effectively serve learners and businesses; (2) serving as employer-of-record for paid work experience; (3) providing wraparound services resource development support; and (4) developing work-based learning models, tools, and technologies.   

The Senior Specialist will serve in a lead capacity and be responsible for high level grant administration, process development and continuous improvement, external relationship management, data analysis for program improvement, and technical assistance.

  •  Provide technical support, training, subagreements, guidance documents, and program reporting

  • Act as primary liaison with funders and facilitate funder meetings to ensure strong communication and responsiveness to their needs. Contribute to business development as needed. 

  • Lead development and implementation of grant/award management processes in collaboration with Director, colleagues, and partners. Assess and improve process effectiveness throughout the project lifecycle.

Attributes for Success  

  •  Relevant BA/BS, equivalent work experience, or a combination of both.

  •  Minimum of three to five (3-5) + years of related work experience

  • Minimum of two (2) + years of experience in an education or nonprofit environment preferred

  • Experience with customer relationship management software (e.g., Salesforce, Dynamics) and project management software (e.g., Asana) highly desired.

  • Excellent project management skills with an ability to prioritize tasks and deliver quality products within agreed upon timeframes, with limited supervision.

  • Exceptional ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including strong virtual and in-person presentation skills.

Budgeted Annual Salary Pay Range:

$78,000.00 - $82,000.00

Final salary and rates are based on education, experience, skills relevant to the role, and internal equity.
