About Datadog

Datadog is the essential monitoring and security platform for cloud applications. As we expand our footprint in AI and machine learning, we’re investing deeply in teams building large-scale, production-grade AI systems that power observability, automation, and intelligence across Datadog’s products.

We’re a fast-moving, collaborative community of builders—engineers, researchers, and technical leaders—working to shape the next generation of AI capabilities at Datadog.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Recruiting Sourcer to help grow Datadog’s AI Engineering, AI Research, and Applied Science teams. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in defining how we attract and engage world-class AI talent—from researchers working on LLMs and multimodal systems to engineers building the infrastructure that makes them scalable.

You’ll partner closely with recruiters, hiring managers, and senior technical leaders to build diverse pipelines, craft compelling outreach strategies, and guide the sourcing process from discovery to engagement. Your work will directly influence how Datadog scales its AI capabilities globally.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and execute sourcing strategies to identify and engage top talent across AI research, applied science, large language model (LLM) engineering, and machine learning infrastructure.
  • Partner with AI leadership and recruiters to understand role scope, required expertise, and team priorities.
  • Conduct market mapping and research to uncover emerging talent, track organizational shifts, and identify new communities of excellence.
  • Partner on employer branding initiatives, representing Datadog’s AI teams at events, conferences, and within professional networks.
  • Stay informed on the latest trends in AI research, recruiting best practices, and sourcing innovations.
  • Use data to measure impact, refine approaches, and continuously improve candidate engagement strategies.

You May Be a Good Fit If You:

  • Have 8+ years of sourcing experience, with a focus on highly technical or research-based roles.
  • Have a deep understanding of AI and ML talent markets, including experience sourcing for roles in LLMs, applied ML, or AI infrastructure.
  • Thrive in fast-paced, high-growth environments, and can balance strategic initiatives with day-to-day execution.
  • Are curious, creative, and persistent—you see sourcing as research, not just recruiting.
  • Possess strong communication skills and the ability to engage senior-level talent with clarity and credibility.
  • Are excited to collaborate across functions and geographies to help Datadog shape its global AI hiring strategy.

Why You’ll Love Datadog

  • Competitive compensation and equity packages
  • Comprehensive benefits and well-being programs
  • Hybrid work model that supports flexibility and connection
  • Continuous career growth and internal mobility opportunities
  • Mentorship, learning, and cross-team collaboration
  • An inclusive culture where authenticity, curiosity, and innovation thrive

Benefits and Growth listed above may vary based on the country of your employment and the nature of your employment with Datadog.

Datadog offers a competitive salary and equity package, and may include variable compensation. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. In addition, Datadog offers a wide range of best in class, comprehensive and inclusive employee benefits for this role including healthcare, dental, parental planning, and mental health benefits, a 401(k) plan and match, paid time off, fitness reimbursements, and a discounted employee stock purchase plan.

The reasonably estimated yearly salary for this role at Datadog is:
$120,000$176,000 USD

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
