About Onebrief

Onebrief is collaboration and AI-powered workflow software designed specifically for military staffs. By transforming this work, Onebrief makes the staff as a whole superhuman - meaning faster, smarter, and more efficient.

We take ownership, seek excellence, and play to win with the seriousness and camaraderie of an Olympic team. Onebrief operates as an all-remote company, though many of our employees work alongside our customers at military commands around the world.

Founded in 2019 by a group of experienced planners, today, Onebrief’s team spans veterans from all forces and global organizations, and technologists from leading-edge software companies. We’ve raised $123m+ from top-tier investors, including Battery Ventures, General Catalyst, Insight Partners, and Human Capital, and today, Onebrief is valued at $1.1B. With this continued growth, Onebrief is able to make an impact where it matters most.

About the Role

Onebrief is hiring a Senior Solutions Architect to lead and support the deployment of our operational planning platform across secure U.S. military environments. The Senior Solutions Architect is a hands‑on, customer‑facing architect who leads solution design, validates feasibility through prototypes, and guides successful implementations. This role bridges pre‑sales discovery and post‑sales delivery, aligning technical decisions with business outcomes across security‑sensitive and enterprise environments.

About You

Architects are part of our Infrastructure and Security organization and we work across the company to solve hard challenges that unlock new markets and use cases. Successful candidates are much more than just technical experts; they display systems thinking and customer empathy to communicate technical trade-offs clearly and align outcomes. They collaborate in an async‑first way; document their work, decisions, and tradeoffs; and collaborate strongly across sales, product, and engineering orgs. Lastly, they raise the bar for security and operational excellence.

What You'll Do
  • Own regional, account, or program‑level solution architecture from discovery through delivery, including reference designs, sequence diagrams, and data contracts

  • Lead technical discovery, requirement shaping, and success criteria definition with customers and partners

  • Build credible prototypes and integration proofs to de‑risk performance, security, and interoperability

  • Influence product roadmaps with field feedback, patterns, and reusable components

  • Create clear architecture artifacts: threat models, deployment topologies, runbooks, and migration plans

  • Guide customers on scalability, reliability, cost, and operability trade‑offs

  • Mentor engineers and partner teams through design reviews, pairing, and office hours

  • Support opportunity cycles with demos, RFx responses, and executive‑level narratives

  • Champion best practices for cloud, data, networking, security, and compliance

What We Look For
  • 8+ years in specific technology domains such as software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, or data and analytics

  • 5+ years designing and implementing applications and/or infrastructures, or consulting on the same

  • 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting experience in software or Internet industries

  • 3+ years in technology or software sales contexts supporting pre/post‑sales architecture

  • Active Top Secret Clearance required; SCI eligibility is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with enterprise and regulated deployments, including FedRAMP, STIGs, or similar frameworks

  • Proficiency designing with modern cloud and data stacks such as Kubernetes, containers, CI/CD, observability, Redis, streaming (Kafka/Redpanda), object storage (S3‑compatible), and relational stores (PostgreSQL)

  • Familiarity with modern web application patterns, real‑time collaboration, maps/geo, and data visualization

  • Strong integration background across identity (SSO/OIDC/SAML), networking (VPC peering, private link), and API design

  • Demonstrated ability to create architecture documentation and present to executive and deeply technical audiences

  • Comfort with hands‑on prototyping using TypeScript/Node/React or similar

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
