Design, implement, deploy, test, audit, and monitor production Solidity smart contracts for DeFi protocols. Lead architecture decisions, security reviews, deployment automation, and CI pipelines while collaborating with auditors, researchers, and frontend engineers. Review code, mentor engineers, translate protocol specifications into gas-efficient implementations, and stay current with EVM changes, standards, and vulnerability classes.
We're seeking a Senior Solidity Smart Contract Developer to lead the design and implementation of core protocol contracts. You'll own smart contracts from architecture through deployment and post-launch monitoring, working closely with auditors, researchers, and frontend engineers. This is a high-ownership role where your code directly secures user funds and shapes protocol economics.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and deploy production-grade Solidity smart contracts for lending markets, AMM pools, staking, governance
- Lead contract architecture decisions, including upgradeability patterns, access control, and module boundaries
- Write comprehensive test suites (Foundry/Hardhat) including fuzz and invariant testing; maintain high coverage on critical paths
- Prepare contracts for and coordinate with external audit firms; triage findings and implement fixes
- Build and maintain deployment scripts, CI pipelines, and monitoring/alerting for on-chain activity
- Review teammates' contracts and mentor mid-level engineers on Solidity best practices and security patterns
- Collaborate with protocol researchers on mechanism design and translate specs into safe, gas-efficient code
- Stay current on EVM changes, emerging standards (ERC-4626, ERC-4337, etc.), and known vulnerability classes
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
- 3+ years writing production Solidity deployed on mainnet (Ethereum or major L2s)
- Deep understanding of the EVM, gas optimization, and common attack vectors (reentrancy, oracle manipulation, MEV, rounding errors, access control flaws)
- Strong experience with Foundry and/or Hardhat, including fuzz/invariant testing
- Proficiency with OpenZeppelin contracts and standard security patterns (checks-effects-interactions, pull-over-push, etc.)
- Experience taking contracts through external audits
- Solid grasp of DeFi primitives and protocol economics
- Strong written communication — you can document design decisions and explain tradeoffs clearly
Nice to Have
- Experience with upgradeable contract patterns (UUPS, Transparent Proxy) and storage layout management
- Solidity/security certifications or public audit contest results (Code4rena, Sherlock, Spearbit)
- Experience with cross-chain messaging (LayerZero, Wormhole, Chainlink CCIP)
- Contributions to open-source protocol codebases
- Familiarity with formal verification (Certora, Halmos) or symbolic execution tools
- Rust or Go experience for off-chain tooling and bots
Tech Stack
Solidity, Foundry, Hardhat, TypeScript, OpenZeppelin, Slither, GitHub Actions, Tenderly, Etherscan APIs
What We Offer
- Competitive salary + token allocation
- Fully remote with flexible hours
- Annual team offsite and conference budget
- Hardware and home-office stipend
- Health benefits (where applicable)
How to Apply
Submit your resume, GitHub profile, and links to deployed contracts or audit reports you've contributed to. Shortlisted candidates will complete a take-home contract exercise followed by a technical interview.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene
Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.
Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech
- Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
- Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
- Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
- Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
- Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
