About the Opportunity

As a Senior Development Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our software products. You will collaborate with peers to understand customer requirements and translate them into functional software solutions. In this role, you will also provide guidance to junior engineers and work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality systems.

This is a remote opportunity for applicants in USA or Canada

Job Duties
  • Design, develop, and maintain software applications and systems

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements

  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code

  • Troubleshoot and debug software issues

  • Lead and participate in code reviews to ensure code quality

  • Review and maintain technical documentation

  • Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in software development

  • Advise and mentor junior software engineers

  • Influence multiple parts of a product or system through technical expertise

Nice to Have
  • Experience with Kafka or other event streaming platforms

  • Familiarity with Go (Golang) and/or Ruby, or a strong willingness to learn

  • Exposure to microservices architecture and containerized environments

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong experience with relational databases, including schema design, complex queries, and performance optimization

  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision

  • Expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining complex software systems

  • Ability to lead and implement solutions for issues of moderate to broad scope

  • Strong communication and persuasion skills when working with senior peers unfamiliar with subject matter

  • Experience mentoring and advising junior peers

  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field

  • 6+ years of experience in software engineering


The base salary range for this position is $129,960 - $144,400 USD for US residents OR $126,800 - $140,900 CAD for Canadian residents. Other countries will differ. Range may vary on a number of factors including, but not limited to: location, experience and qualifications.
