Role Summary

We are looking for a Frontend Engineer who is motivated to combine the art of design with the art of coding to join our Data Enrichment team. Responsibilities will include translation of designs to actual code that will produce visual and functional elements of the application. You will work with our UI/UX team, Product Managers and our other Frontend and Backend engineers to bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides and defining how the application looks as well as how it works. At Consumer Edge, we have a strong preference for functional, typesafe languages and rigorous testing of our software.

You’ll be joining Consumer Edge’s Data Enrichment Team. We are a distributed cross-disciplinary team located across Europe and the US. Our mission is to build internal tooling that empowers our data analysts and product managers to add insights and analyse our data. You’ll be joining a group of software engineers, product managers and designers and working closely with stakeholders to use data to answer real-world business questions. The product is still at an early stage with a huge roadmap so you’ll have the opportunity to influence technical design, visual design and implementation details.

We believe in building a culture of autonomy and that enabling team members to make decisions independently leads to greater motivation, innovation and productivity.

What our Frontend Stack looks like

  • We write server-side rendered web apps in Vue.js (Nuxt.js)
  • Typescript is our default language
  • We use GraphQL and REST to query our APIs
  • Our frontenders are comfortable working on Server Side Node.js

Your main responsibilities

  • Develop new user-facing features
  • Build reusable UI components and packages for future use
  • Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
  • Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability
  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders
  • Own the full release cycle from development to deployment

We’re looking for someone who

  • Has a minimum of 4 years experience developing features in TypeScript or JavaScript.
  • Has worked with one or more frameworks in the JS ecosystem (Vue, React, Svelte etc.)
  • Is proficient in using CSS/SCSS/Tailwind to create beautiful web applications
  • Is comfortable working in a multidisciplinary team and not afraid to voice your opinion
  • Is familiar with unit testing libraries such as Jest or Vitest and e2e testing libraries such as Cypress or Playwright
  • Is familiar with the npm ecosystem and know how to publish packages on private or public registries

Nice To Have

  • You are as comfortable writing a service in Node as you are creating custom UI components
  • Experience with SQL
  • Experience working with design systems e.g. Material UI, tailwind, PrimeVue

Why Join Consumer Edge

We offer a competitive salary, an extensive benefits package including 401(k) match, paid parental leave, flexible and generous time off, work from home flexibility and a vibrant work environment conducive to professional growth and innovation. Join our team and play a significant role in driving data-driven decision-making, shaping the future of global consumer insights.

Salary

The annual base salary for this role is between $195,000 – $215,000 based on experience, with the opportunity for a performance-based bonus, company equity, 401(k) matching, work-from-home flexibility, and subsidized health benefits.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
