This role follows a hybrid work schedule (two days onsite.) We are considering candidates located within 50 miles of Portsmouth, NH; Boston, MA; Plano, TX; and Indianapolis, IN.

Our key focus areas include:
• Building strong partnerships: Developing and cultivating high-trust relationships with Engineers, Business Customers and Enterprise Stakeholders. Daily, we work with peer Engineers, Solaria & LIT (our in-house consulting org), and enterprise GenAI partners.
• Solving complex challenges at scale: Leverage your curiosity to solve moderately complex technical challenges by developing reusable solutions, patterns, and enablers that empower other engineers to rapidly deliver value to partners and clients. We are currently focused on applying GenAI based capabilities to business use cases. Recent examples of capabilities delivered include extraction, summarization, Q&A, chat, and agents.
• Helping advance peer Engineers learning & growth: Designing and delivering communications, training, up-skilling, and best-in-class testing standards and practices. Liberty recognizes it is imperative for all employees learn how to work with GenAI. Our teams are key to helping business understand how to apply GenAI capabilities to their products and use cases.
• Experimenting on emerging technologies: Ensuring the value and increasing scalability of cutting-edge technologies and their fit within Engineering best practices, tools, and North Star Architecture.
Your role in our collaborative environment
Our teams collaborate with peer engineers in designing and developing innovative solutions that drive business success. Key to this success is your ability to effectively work and communicate with various Engineering and Architecture teams across the Enterprise.
• Assist in design and development of source code and improving technical workflows.
• Engage in mentorship and knowledge-sharing to support team members and foster growth.
• Identify opportunities for automation, performance tuning, and usability improvements.
• Translate customer needs into technical applications, ensuring intuitive user experiences.
• Because we strive for reusability, it is essential that you are adaptable and collaborative with customers to incorporate their specific needs into enterprise-level solutions.
• Apply a proactive, solutions-driven mindset to enhance performance, resiliency, and efficiency across projects
Qualifications
What you bring to the team
Experience: 2-5 years in IT ideally working with new or emerging technologies applied to large commercial, high-touch insurance use cases. Techstart experience a plus.
Technical Skills:
- Hands-on experience leveraging GenAI for software development
- Proficiency in Python and TypeScript
- Experience deploying cloud applications using CI/CD pipeline
- Strong skills in building tools, API integrations, and automation
- Experience with AWS, Github Actions, and FLUID (UI component library)
- Experience mentoring engineers, delivering technical training, or facilitating knowledge-sharing initiatives is a plus
Mindset: Experimental and independent, comfortable working with ambiguous requirements and collaborating to identify business needs.
Quality and Documentation: Beyond writing error-free source code, you'll create thorough documentation and deployment guides to maintain robust software.
Client Focus: Translate customer requirements into effective software solutions that enhance the user's experience.
Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities to improve system performance, resiliency, and efficiency.
- A minimum of five years of software engineering experience
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical or business discipline, or equivalent experience

The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role.
