We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to produce scalable software solutions within the Workplace engineering team. You will be part of a cross-functional team that is responsible for the full software development life cycle, from conception to deployment. As an engineer, you should be comfortable with back-end coding languages, development frameworks and third-party libraries. You should have solid software engineering experience in building commercial-grade web-based applications and scalable cloud-centric APIs (Applications and programming interfaces). A successful candidate will be able to play an active role in managing the prioritization of work to meet project goals.
This position is based in our Chicago office. We follow a hybrid policy of 3 days onsite and 2 days remote work.

Job Responsibilities:
- Work with development teams and product managers to build software
- Design & develop client-side and server-side architecture
- Write scalable APIs using Java based technologies (Java 8+, Java Spring Boot)
- Develop software with the focus on security, availability, and scalability
- Write technical documentation
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a full-stack developer or similar role
- 5-7 years' experience in back-end languages (Java)
- Familiarity with any databases technologies - Microsoft SQL, PostgreSQL
- Experience in AWS (Amazon Web Services) based environment building serverless applications is a plus
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Great attention to detail and organizational skills
- Experience within the financial services industry is desirable
