The Community You Will Join:

The User Product Team is currently hiring for a Software Engineer. 

Core to Airbnb is belonging, connecting people and creating community. The User Product team is a backend team focusing on all things users and the people they represent. From sign up and login to user profile to how users interact on our platform the User Product team is central. With massive impact and breadth, the User Product team works across Airbnb ensuring consistent, scalable platforms to enable our users to sign up for a new account, get their profile set up, and represent themselves whether that's as a guest, host, or business in different scenarios. The users on Airbnb are central to most interactions and make Airbnb the engaging and wonderful platform it is, the User Product team is core to that those experiences.

Your day-to-day responsibilities includes:

  • Collaborate with the other engineering teams across the stack while working closely with counterparts within Authentication Infrastructure, Trust, Knowledge Graph, Search, Listings, and others to build scalable and high quality platforms and foundations. .
  • Work closely with cross functional partners to define and execute on products and features that enable our guests and hosts to set up their accounts and profiles quickly and easily.
  • Architect and build efficient and reusable backend components, architect reliable, performance and scalable systems.
  • Evaluate and prototype new technologies and techniques that can enable faster iterations and execution across our tech stack.
  • Mentor and support other engineers in the team or in related teams.
Your Expertise:
  • 6+ years industry experience
  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree, preferably in CS, or equivalent experience
  • Experience in building and scaling high-quality and high-traffic products (or systems).
  • Ability to evaluate technical approaches and design product solutions to solve real-world problems.
  • Ability to drive alignment, manage projects and effectively collaborate with stakeholders.
  • Mentorship to junior developers

Your Location:

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager. How We'll Take Care of You:

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
