What You Will Do

As a Senior Software Engineer on the UGC - Creator Platform team, you will lead engineering efforts to build products that empower creators on the Roblox Marketplace. In this position, you will focus on streamlining the creation process and developing a robust suite of features for the UGC Creators. The team empowers users to create and sell items on the Roblox Marketplace while ensuring a healthy supply of Virtual Items. Through dynamic pricing, analytical insights, and proactive marketplace management, we enable creators to thrive and maintain a vibrant ecosystem.

With over 100 million daily active users (and growing), we are looking for an experienced engineer to join us that's passionate about designing and building scalable systems.

You are

  • Professional with 7+ years of experience building and shipping consumer products and service applications.

  • Experienced in working with backend technologies such as Java, Kotlin, Python, or C#.

  • Proficient in distributed systems, API design, and microservices architecture.

  • Proven technical leader and mentor

  • Skilled at breaking down product requirements into iterative, deliverable stages and have a proven history of successful execution and delivery

 

You will

  • Drive the development of innovative products that empower UGC creators, directly contributing to their success.

  • Take ownership of the full feature lifecycle, from conception to deployment, delivering scalable and resilient solutions.

  • Elevate code quality and architectural standards

  • Collaborate with product and design to push the boundary of what is possible



For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits as described on this page.

Annual Salary Range
$238,520$289,460 USD

Roles that are based in an office are onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
