The opportunity.
Join our team as a Senior Software Engineer, building the trading systems at the core of our platform. We have recently been migrating critical trading workflows onto Aeron-based sequenced-log architecture and this role sits at the heart of that platform: you will join one of the teams running services on top of it, matched to the team that best fits your strengths and interests during the interview process.
We are also an AI-native engineering organization: the majority of our pull requests are AI-written and AI-reviewed, supported by in-house agent tooling built directly into our monorepo, so engineers spend their time on design, correctness, and leverage rather than boilerplate.
We are looking for an engineer with a background in capital markets, trading workflows, or electronic trading systems. You have strong skills in system design, you focus on observability and testing, and you leverage AI to move faster without sacrificing quality. Within your first six months, you will tackle key projects such as:
- Feature Expansion: Ship new trading protocol capabilities at high velocity on our Aeron-based platform, supporting a growing client base and increased trading volumes.
- Platform Modernization: Evolve our service architecture — migrating remaining workflows onto the new stack and designing the messaging patterns that connect it to the rest of the platform.
- System Optimization: Improve platform scalability, performance, and test coverage for systems where correctness is the product.
Responsibilities include:
- Design, Develop and Test: Build protocols and features to meet functional and non-functional requirements.
- Support and Maintain: Ensure the reliability and availability of services developed by the team, addressing production issues and continuously improving operational processes.
- Optimize Performance: Improve system performance for low latency and high throughput, crucial in trading systems.
- Collaborate: Work with cross-functional teams to execute projects and contribute to a team-oriented culture.

- Network Protocols & Messaging: Familiarity with technologies such as TCP/IP, FIX, Kafka, or Aeron.
- Cloud Technologies: Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker.
- AI-Assisted Development: Ability to effectively use AI-assisted development tools (e.g. Claude Code) to accelerate delivery and improve quality while maintaining strong engineering judgment.
- Performance Optimization: Understanding of low latency, high-throughput systems.
- SDLC Practices: Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies, including agile practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Continuous Improvement: Commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.
