*In early September this year, The US Army awarded Anduril a contract to develop a night vision and mixed reality system as part of the Soldier Borne Mission Command program.This award will equip every U.S. warfighter with superhero-like abilities that redefine what it means to win in the 21st century.
ABOUT THE JOBCome join one of the strongest performing mixed reality teams in the industry, dedicated to revolutionizing experiences for the warfighter. You will develop and optimize advanced game development and game engine technologies that drive real-time simulation, immersive training, and critical mission planning capabilities. This role requires a blend of deep technical expertise and creative problem-solving skills as you contribute to national defense initiatives while pushing the boundaries of mixed reality.
WHAT YOU’LL DOWe are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with strong C++ skills to join our developer platform team. The candidate should have solid software engineering experience and be comfortable working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team focused on building the next generation of XR experiences. Responsibilities include developing, optimizing, and maintaining developer SDKs for our real-time XR runtimes, contributing to API design, and supporting cross-functional efforts to deliver a robust platform for our XR applications.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS- 5+ years of software development experience
- Proficient in writing performance-critical code in C/C++ or equivalent languages
- Proven expert-level proficiency with building developer SDKs for real-time systems
- Solid understanding of 3D graphics concepts, including rendering pipelines, shaders, and linear algebra
- Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities
- Experience with OpenXR, and contributing to OpenXR specifications or open-source OpenXR projects
- Experience with Vulkan, DirectX or equivalent real-time graphical APIs
- Experience with at least one XR hardware platform (e.g. Meta Quest, Microsoft Hololens)
- Experience with at least one major game engine (Unity, Unreal Engine, Custom) and it’s integration with OpenXR
- Knowledge of other XR SDKs (OpenVR, Oculus SDK, Windows Mixed Reality)
- Experience with performance profiling tools for XR Applications
- Familiarity with real-time networking for multi-user XR experiences
- Experience with Android Open Source Project and process lifecycle
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
