Lithic creates card issuing and payment infrastructure for technology companies that just works. We help some of the world’s fastest-growing digital banks, fintech companies, and software companies process billions in transactions annually.

We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer for our Issuing team to lead Lithic’s next phase of growth. The Issuing team builds and maintains services that manage the entire lifecycle of an account holder and card, including card issuance, physical card manufacturing, digital wallet tokenization, as well as KYB/KYC. Additionally, the Issuing team designs and maintains the stability of Lithic’s API (gateway, SDK), working with other teams to maintain our developer-first brand promise. You will become an expert in the card payments space. The team primarily uses Python and is rapidly adopting Rust.

Job responsibilities:
  • Lead development of new card and account opening lifecycle features (card issuance, tokenization, physical card manufacturing, KYB/KYC, document collection & applications)
  • Own initiatives from planning to launch, keeping stakeholders informed and aligned along the way
  • Ensure high reliability and availability for Lithic’s API
  • Orchestrate cross functional teamwork to design standards across all engineering teams
  • Provide expertise to bring industry best practices to our APIs
  • Lead efforts to improve systems and processes within the team
  • Participate in the team on-call rotation
Qualifications:
  • Experience shipping in production environment and leading projects
  • Strong distributed system instincts and design skills
  • Experience in or desire to learn Rust
  • Ability to lead cross-functional projects and step in as a strong individual contributor
  • Growth mindset and continuous desire to learn and improve
  • An interest in fintech and the payments space is preferred

Base salary range for US candidates: $160,000 - $190,000
