Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure

FabFitFun, one of the fastest growing companies in the US, is looking for a Senior Software Engineer with Infrastructure expertise to join our core back-end team. This engineer will be instrumental in helping us to develop and maintain our infrastructure roadmap!


What You'll Do:

  • Innovate with the infrastructure and engineering teams on cloud deployment for large scale distributed data processing applications
  • Design and own the network topology and security policies for our AWS environment
  • Create and maintain technical requirements, process, design, and architecture documents
  • Facilitate performance analysis and capacity planning for our AWS infrastructure
  • Develop and maintain the infrastructure roadmap to get us to at least 99.99% uptime
  • Work with our distributed team of software and infrastructure engineers to set up 24/7 coverage with escalation policies to ensure 100% uptime for mission critical services
  • Work with QA and infrastructure teams to develop redundancies to ensure high availability and disaster recovery plans to handle worst case scenarios
  • Define standards, procedures, and guidelines to improve the overall processes, architecture, and security of our systems
  • Mentor and grow less experienced talent

What You'll Bring:

  • BS or higher in Computer Science or related technical discipline 
  • Expert knowledge of building tools and automations to simplify deployments and create a robust scalable infrastructure
  • 5+ years of experience deploying and managing large-scale distributed systems
  • Strong understanding of cloud-based infrastructures, Linux systems, and relational databases
  • Strong knowledge of AWS Lambda, serverless architectures, and microservices
  • Experience and comfort working with or leading distributed teams
  • Knowledge of Java programming language concepts, Java EE, SQL, and NoSQL
  • Familiarity working in test-driven development and Agile environments
  • Comfortable with long-term planning and documentation
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
