Senior Software Engineer - CX Core


Why We Have This Role

We are looking for a staff software engineer who is comfortable with high degrees of ambiguity and is proficient at designing scalable systems, mentoring junior engineers, and acting as a technical leader as our team pushes the Qualtrics Customer Experience (CX) product to the next level. You should love data visualization, using AI to accelerate customer value, and building simple solutions to solve hard customer problems. Designing systems in an agile environment to withstand growth and owning quality from end to end are rewarding challenges and part of why Qualtrics is such an exciting place to work!


How You’ll Find Success

  • Designing and implementing well-crafted, scalable, and maintainable code
  • Working through ambiguity; taking business goals and product ideas and turning them into working products for real customers
  • Using metrics to measure success and leveraging data to make decisions
  • Partnering with product managers, UX designers, and other engineers to deliver solutions for our customers
  • Taking initiative and demonstrating persistence in getting things done

Things You’ll Do

  • Develop scalable, fast, robust, and simple web-based solutions to solve complex business problems
  • Implement new features and optimize existing ones to provide customer value
  • Partner with UX, TechOps, and Product teams to achieve the best product designs
  • Attend daily stand-up meetings, collaborate with your peers, prioritize features, serve on an on-call rotation, and consistently deliver value to customers
  • Drive operational perfection by driving investigation of production issues, root cause analysis and follow-up actions for mitigation
  • Contribute to technical standards for our engineering organization

What We’re Looking For On Your Resume

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Has worked across teams and roles to understand needs, propose features, and drive projects
  • Has developed scalable, fast, robust, and rich web-based solutions
  • Experience working in a full-stack team, building advanced frontend applications, large-scale backends and maintaining high-volume datastores
  • Experience working with AWS technologies
  • Experience working in NodeJS is a plus
  • Experience with machine learning and generative AI is a plus
  • Experience with continuous delivery, git, test automation, and build/deploy systems
  • Strong algorithms, data structures, and coding background
  • 5+ years of meaningful engineering experience (preferably for a SaaS company)

For full-time positions, this pay range is for base per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, education, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be included in an employment offer. Full-time employees are eligible for medical, dental, vision, life and disability, 401(k) with match, a wellness reimbursement, mental health benefits, and an experience bonus.
