This is a full-time, onsite role at our Sunnyvale, CA office. This position is not eligible for remote work. Role summary:
As a Senior Software Engineer at Walmart, you will lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable software solutions that align with business objectives. This role requires expertise in software architecture, coding standards, and agile methodologies to create maintainable, high-quality components. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements, address technical challenges, and implement continuous integration and deployment practices. Your contributions will ensure robust application performance, security, and reliability while driving innovation and operational excellence within Walmart’s technology environment.
About the team:
Our team develops and maintains robust distributed systems that support Walmart’s eCommerce and supply chain operations by efficiently processing high transaction volumes. We focus on capturing and analyzing transaction data from multiple sources to promptly identify and resolve potential disruptions. Emphasizing scalable platform design, iterative development, and continuous delivery, we ensure real-time, accurate information for clients. Collaboration and technical expertise drive our efforts to build reliable solutions that enhance operational performance and customer experience across Walmart’s digital ecosystem. The team prioritizes innovation, quality, and responsiveness in delivering impactful software solutions.
  What you'll do:
  • Analyze and classify requirements to align with business and technical objectives, ensuring comprehensive scoping and estimation.
  • Design scalable software solutions by evaluating trade-offs and converting high-level designs into detailed functional modules.
  • Develop maintainable, testable code adhering to coding standards and security policies across multiple platforms and languages.
  • Create and execute test cases to identify defects, perform root cause analysis, and support regression testing.
  • Monitor application performance and troubleshoot issues to maintain high availability and scalability.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver solutions that meet customer and business needs while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

What you'll bring:
  • Proven expertise in software architecture, scalable distributed systems, and design patterns.
  • Strong proficiency in object-oriented programming and coding standards using languages such as JavaScript, Python, or C.
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, automation scripting, and telemetry implementation.
  • Ability to analyze and translate business requirements into detailed technical designs and user stories.
  • Skilled in code review, debugging, defect management, and ensuring high-quality, maintainable code.
  • Familiarity with testing methodologies, tools, and defect lifecycle processes.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and commitment to delivering secure, high-availability software solutions.

The annual salary range for this position is $117,000.00 - $234,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
