About Paxos
Today’s financial infrastructure is archaic, expensive, inefficient and risky — supporting a system that leaves out more people than it lets in. So we’re rebuilding it.
We’re on a mission to open the world’s financial system to everyone by enabling the instant movement of any asset, any time, in a trustworthy way. For over a decade, we’ve built blockchain infrastructure that tokenizes, custodies, trades and settles assets for the world’s leading financial institutions, like PayPal, Venmo, Mastercard and Interactive Brokers.
About the role
As a Senior Software Engineer on the Assets Core team, you will be responsible for modernizing the foundational infrastructure that represents and secures all assets on the Paxos platform. Your work will be critical to transforming our brittle, fragmented treasury systems into a scalable, resilient, and intent-driven platform, directly addressing the core challenges of converging hot, warm, and cold asset movement flows.
What you’ll do
- Design and build the core primitives of our asset movement strategy, including transactional signing ceremony execution and wallet balance reservation systems.
- Decompose legacy systems to decouple business logic from execution, reducing manual break-fixes and improving system observability.
- Architect and implement solutions for ensuring data consistency and fault tolerance to prevent race conditions across concurrent asset movement workflows (e.g., Rebalancer, Tokenization, Signing Ceremony).
- Drive the development of a robust, modern testing framework for our mission-critical assets core services to improve confidence and development velocity.
- Collaborate with platform and product teams to build the foundational components required to launch new assets and products with greater speed and reliability.
About you
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, with proven track record of delivering complex technical solutions
- Strong expertise in building scalable backend services and RESTful APIs
- Experience with modern web technologies and cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred)
- Track record of writing clean, maintainable code with comprehensive test coverage
- Strong understanding of security best practices and experience building secure systems
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to break down complex requirements into manageable tasks
- Experience with workflow engines and state management systems is a plus
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance and KYC/AML processes is a plus
- Demonstrated experience using AI tools to improve how you work
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
